Stayed here in August. Our bikes were stolen from the supposed 'safe storage' because the landlord failed to lock the shed... more

Cramped accommodation!!!!!!!. We were a group of 17 so we knew things would be a little difficult. Me and 3 other adults in a family room. Felt "done" by being charged nearly £40 for small bunk beds, shoe-horned into a small cubbyhole next to the main bedroom. The bunk beds were obviously meant for young kids but the rooms were... more

We have just spent the New Year at the Norcoft Guest House and have had a terrific experience. The Guest House has off-road parking in its own courtyard, which puts it head and shoulders above the majority of lodging properties in Penrith which have to cope with parking on the streets. The streets appear safe enough and there are few... more

Especially good points: it has parking, the hosts are friendly and it's an easy walk into Penrith for restaurants, etc. Many facilities and lots of good local information in room. My room decor was a bit dated but it was all very clean with good quality furniture and carpet. Bathroom: brand new and sparkling clean, really good shower, towel rail... more

I stayed 4 nights at Norcroft GH & was satisfied with my 3rd storey single room ensuite. The small, clean room with one window was reasonably priced; had a super LDC tele & Paul, the host was excellent. This is a very large house, formerly the headmasters residence, with lots of rooms. There's a comfy guest lounge, large dining room,... more

Mr Lamb was the best host! Had everything I needed. I was soloing the C2C bicycle route. I arrived tired, cold and wet after riding in rain and hail all day. Mr Lamb took my bike and my wet gear to dry it. When I told him I really needed a glass of whiskey, he went to the store and... more

We stayed at this Guest House in March 2008. I would suggest that it is a typical B&B which unfortunately does not live up to 21st century expectations. The room we stayed in was clean and speacious albeit the low ceiling meant you had to be careful getting out of bed. The walls between the rooms can only be described... more

I stayed at the Norcroft for 3 days in March and had a wonderful time. The rooms were attractive, modern and very clean and the breakfast was great. More importantly, the owners are not only delightful and friendly, but ready to go beyond the call of duty to help their guests. The tariff was more than reasonable and they did... more

We booked our trip through Adventure Cycling who use this B&B as a base so we stayed here three nights. It was ideal, very clean and the room was a great size with a good ensuite (looked very new). We had a very filling breakfast to set us up each day. The hosts are very welcoming. We can recommend this... more
