We called for a pint during our weekend in Penrith but were disappointed when we went inside. It is fairly run down and could do with a spring clean. There is lots of potential here but it felt worn and faded. The menus had stickers all over them showing changed prices and looked unprofessional.

Came off the M6 into Penrith on a drive North in order to find somewhere for lunch, rather than eating at a motorway service station. Driving through Penrith we spotted this place adjacent to a Morrison's supermarket. There is parking immediately in front of the hotel, but if you miss it you could use Morrison's. It was a lovely day... More

Yesterday, April 1st 2015, we visited The Agricultural Hotel in Penrith for a late lunch. Having checked out the reviews which were mostly favourable, my first impression was that this was a lot smaller than it looked from the outside. The eating area was closed leaving only a very basic bar area open for use. We chose the steak and... More

Have eaten here before during a Saturday lunch so decided to bring all the full family for Mothers Day, the food was excellent and the portions were good and tasty. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It's like a country pub in the town. Will def be heading back soon.

Fantastic hotel, lovely food especially the breakfast. Gary was a brilliant host, our room 106 had privacy and was very clean. Really enjoyed our stay. The town had lots of pubs guided by our host Gary. Top notch. Cheers Martin, Heather, Mick and Pam.

Took mother and family for Sunday lunch. Had never been inside The Agricultural before; it's really friendly and welcoming. The food was good and value for money, staff were lovely. The portions are huge; but they do a small portion option as well. We would definitely go back again.

My family regularly get together here and spend a lot of money. However as I was given the news I had terminal cancer we had decided to have an early Christmas dinner. My dad rang and explained the situation and asked if we could have a Christmas dinner in November. They said no!!! They would of made their money back... More

Best hotel/restaurant/local in town. Great beer snecklifter(most of time)ho ho , good food and great staff. Haven't met an unsavoury local in there yet lol. Only on 132 letters so will have to write a bit more. So suffice to say will miss you all when leaving time comes x

We had a very good meal in the restaurant area beside the bar. Food was excellent, plentiful and very reasonably priced, service courteous and efficient, and the atmosphere friendly. Superior pub grub.
