We booked this for the night befor our week in Center Parcs for the bargain price of £27 (booked 4 months in advance), the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant (especially the chap on reception whose name we cannot remember). We were given a list and direction of places to eat nearby but there is... More

Having previously stayed in a Travel Lodge in the South of England and had a disaster I was reluctant to book here - but as it was the only place left with space I had little option. To my surprise and delight we arrived to find a very helpful member of staff who knew the local area well, he recommended... More

We chose this Travelodge in Penrith as a base while we went for a short break in the Lake District/North Pennines. Judging by previous experience, we knew what to expect from Travelodge in a cheap, basic but immaculate room. Situated just off the A66 road about half a mile from the centre of Penrith, there's also a Little Chef and... More

Pro: Excellent value for money for a family. I have stayed in Travelodge many times and this is as expected- good, basic, clean and comfortable accommodation. Reception staff was professional and welcoming. Neutral: It is right next to Burger King and Little Chef. Both of these served as a landmark as it may be tricky to navigate to the hotel... More

Having stayed at a few Travel lodges in cities such as Manchester and Liverpool I had a poor view of this company. Most of their hotels have had shabby decor and unfriendly staff. My stay at the Penrith Travel Lodge was a welcome change. From arrival we had a warm and friendly welcome. We were in the annex building round... More

Arrived around 1700 on a Saturday to a very cheerful receptionist (Lee). A very warm and friendly welcome! He checked us into Room 13 and ensured that the ordered cot was there. He told me if we had any noise complaints to let him know. He asked if we wanted a recommendation of places to eat, I'd said I'd googled... More

Booked in advance got a good flexible deal, closest hotel to the Rheged Centre, A66, Penrith. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great sleep. Despite being next to the busy A66, didn't hear any traffic or other guests. Only downside is that the only place to eat on site, is either a Burger King or Little Thief... sorry Little Chef. There is... More

Booked this last minute, and very glad we did. We all slept like a log, couldn't hear anything, despite been near a busy road, and a full car park. The staff where very lovely. Only downside is no kitchen for cooked food, and the vending machine was bare when we arrived (was refilled in the morning)
