Warm, clean room. Clean bathroom, hot shower. Friendly receptionist. No noise from outside or inside the hotel. Comfy bed and tea and coffee making facilities. Town centre and big Sainsbury's close by.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, all that we needed for an overnight stay. The bed was fresh and comfortable. Easy check in and check out. No complaints! Located on busy A road, easy to find and plenty of parking. Burger King and Little chef right next door. Would stay again.

I arrived Friday night to find out that I had stupidly booked the wrong date. The hotel staff could have turned me away and despite being full and very late they brought a room back into service and prepared it with an extra bed for me and my weary friend. I did not expect to be looked after so well... More

This is a great little Inn. Quiet although next to A66 and train lines. Friendly staff, rooms are comfortable enough but did find the bed uncomfortable (roll in the middle type of mattress) Very handy for the lakes and as a stop over for travelling up north or south. I would stay again but only for a couple of nights.

We stayed here at the end of March for 1 night and was pleasantly surprised. The lodge has had a recent re-fit and is a great improvement over the old style lodges. The old style had become very tired and we had moved to Premier Inns but this place has re-opened my eyes to a value for money place to... More

We stayed at the Travelodge, Penrith for one Friday night en route to Scotland. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who we would not have hesitated to ask for assistance if we had needed to but we did not. The room was clean and well presented if basic (but expected for the basic price we paid)... More

Penrith - Dirty duvet. Ripped duvet cover. Dirty shower curtain. Not an enjoyable stay. This is supposed to be an upgraded Travelodge. We were supposed to stay 2 nights - we left after the first night. By comparison, we had stayed in the Glasgow Airport Travelodge a few days prior and this was immaculate, with very friendly staff.

The first two nights were spot on. Clean, comfortable, cheap etc. All the attributes of a quality budget hotel. On the third night however, things went downhill. I returned after a day on the high Lakeland hills (17 miles, 4200 foot ascent) to find the room unserviced. Dirty towels in the bath, a hospitality tray devoid of hospitality, unmadeup bed... More

Room was smelly, carpet dirty, heater not working. Location was good as we were heading to the Lakes early next day. It was OK for 1 night but I wouldn't like to have thought I had to return there for a second night.

The Good----- Stayed 2 nights and could not fault the staff who were all very professional, friendly and helpful Obvious that it had been recently refurbed with new beds, curtains, bathroom taps etc. Freshly decorated throughout and nice and clean. Good location at a keen price for the Lakes The bad--- Toilet pan need replacing as the bottom was badly... More

We are truly sorry to learn that you were dissatisfied with your room Eurotraveller777. We do expect all our rooms to be cleaned to high standards and for our facilities to be in good working order. Furthermore, during the daily room checks, all mattresses that are found to not be fit for purpose should be replaced. We are also sorry... More
