This was easy to find and not far off the motorway going north. Room was clean with tea and coffee facilities which was welcome although there was only two satchets of tea provided but reception gladly gave you more. Our room was in the annex which was fine but other guests were rather noisy and shutting doors when others were... More

We three friends decided to walk down from Penrith to Ullswater Lake and back and Travelodge seemed perfect for the purpose. The hotel is a short walk (around a mile upwards from train station). The staff was very friendly and helpful, explained us everything we wanted to explore, from local attraction to places around and ways to reach there. They... More

this lodge has been refitted since my last stay, room is much better with 2 good chairs and a super bed with good pillows, great nights sleep on a bed which supported my considerable weight without problem . clean and bright with a reasonable shower and no skimping on towels. very pleased

Stayed here for 2 nights. On arrival the staff were on changeover and were arguing over the booking in sheets. They then argued over which room we were being allocated as the sheet said one thing and the system said another! We went up to the room and noticed dirty tea stains on the sideboard, hairs in the toilet and... More

Great stay . Room basic, but comfortable. Staff polite and helpful (At the desk, they have a list of local restaurants) f you like fast food, there is a Burger King cum Little chef next door. Why be negative? This is a Travelodge, not the Ritz Hotel

We booked in one night stay but when we went to the room the door was wedged open with a bath towel and the windows were wide open. We couldn't quite work out what the problem was but suspected there'd been a leak as it smelled damp even with the open windows. When we reported this to reception they just... More

Friendly staff and great service at this Travelodge. The location is very convenient and easy to find. Many places of interest close and some of the most spectacular scenery within easy reach. Good base to see the lakes close to Ullswater. We took a trip on the Steamer. Although straight off the M6 at junction 40. We did not hear... More

A good clean and tidy place to stay over. Reasonably priced too. Will remember this one!! It's within easy access to the M6 motorway and yes, it does have a Little Chef attached to it. But if you doth mind that, it's an ok place to stay overnight.

If this is the refurb. that Travelodge advertise they needn't have bothered. The only refurb.is the bed. The beds that slide out are rock hard. There was only one bath towel in the family room and a rather suspect hand towel which was grubby. The bathroom floor was wet and not very clean. However , the staff were friendly and... More

After a long drive from the Highlands, and ready for bed, we arrived around 2130 to be told that they did not have our reserved room for us because they overbooked by six rooms! The clueless receptionist was already scrambling to find lodging for another couple that also arrived to NO ROOM. After 45 minutes of making calls and excuses,... More
