We had a lovely weekend - the rooms were clean and comfortable, the views fabulous and the breakfasts excellent! It was great to be welcomed and made to feel at home, and we appreciated the advice about local eateries. No problems at all with booking - phone message was returned promptly. Thanks Richard and hope to visit again soon. Andrew... More

Four months ago we received an invitation to the Penrith area and looked for suitable accommodation via the internet. The initial telephone call to the Ash Bank was strange as we were informed that they had no diary for bookings 4 months in advance and they took our details to telephone us again when they did have a diary. We... More

We stayed at the Ashbank Guest house for 2 nights last weekend and had a lovely time. We were very impressed with the level of facilities, cleanliness and friendly service. The breakfast cooked by Richards fair hand is better than I have had in some 3 and 4 star hotels. Nothing is too much trouble with Richard even providing a... More

We stayed in the Garden View suite en route to Scotland and also on the way back. The suite includes a bedroom with en suite shower room and a sitting room with large picture windows giving a beautiful view over the garden and the Cumbrian hills beyond. The rooms are very comfortable, very clean and very quiet. Richard and Christine... More

Stayed at Ashbank B&B whilst attending a wedding in Penrith and didn't want to drive home. We never stay at small places but we are so glad we did. Nothing was too much trouble even when we arrived back late - sorry by the way. Unfortunately we don't need to stay in Penrith much otherwise we would stay a lot... More

My wife and I would have no reservation in staying here again, lovely people, great food and very comfortable. Richard has a great knowledge of the area so you only have to ask and you will have all the information you need on days out or eating out..
