we enjoyed our stay so much! our room was simply perfect. It was a huge suite with a private entrance. huge room with 3 single beds and a sitting area: 4 armchairs and a coffee table. just like a living room at home. the bathroom was huge, spotless and shining and equipped fully: shampoo and shower gell and conditioner and... In July 2014 I arrived at the Bampton Village Store sodden and exhausted. Without a second thought, John listened to my request, checked ferry times at Pooley Bridge, and arranged a taxi there all within 15 minutes. John knows his community and is an extraordinary organiser. This sort of generosity makes travel so much more pleasant. The store itself is... More

We stayed here as part of our Coast to Coast walk, and although it is slightly off the path, it was a very good choice! The room was very nice, with comfortable beds and a very nice bathroom. Wifi worked well, and with the village store on the premises we could stock up on various items. The owners are very... More

We stayed here while walking the Coast to Coast and after a long day's trek were given a warm welcome by John, a most solicitous host. We stayed in 'The Lodge', a spacious and comfortable 3-bed apartment with armchairs, coffee table and a large bathroom. John took great care to explain all the facilities (including efficient WiFi access) and set... More

Comfortable and welcoming. We visited while doing the C2C walk. After several previous B&Bs with shoebox sized bathrooms and showers, it was a delight to have a big spacious bathroom with an equally big shower. The owner suggested this lower level room had the best bathroom (unsure how this compared with the upstairs room). The breakfast was consistent with other... More

We stayed here while walking the Coast to Coast and it is about 2.5Km off the route to the north from Burnbanks. We stayed in 'The Lodge' which is on the upper floor. The room is very spacious with three single beds, and good WiFi access. There is an ensuite with shower. Janet gave us a warm welcome, bottled water... More

Thank you for kind comments, and also for bringing to our attention the problem you encountered with the skylight window in "The Lodge". This has now been rectified, so that this problem will not arise again. We are very pleased that, other than this slight problem, you enjoyed your stay with us. More

We decided to break what would have been a long walk from Patterdale to Shap on the C2C by stopping for a night in Bampton in mid September 2013. We were very glad we did. Bampton Village Store B and B offered a delightful, spacious room that was extremely comfortable for four people. Janet and John were lovely hosts who... More

A fantastic B and B. Immaculate room and amazing welcome. After a delayed journey of over eight hours and just wanting our beds, we were welcomed by John. He gave us both a refreshing beer and cheered our son up immensely by giving him a toy car and truck from their shop (our son is car mad so this was... More

I have nothing bad to say about the Bampton Village Store. It served our purposes well, a good night's sleep, in a location that suited us on our Coast to Coast walk. That said, the accommodations are pretty simple, and and the noise level from the room above and the t.v. in the adjoining room, was a bit more than... More

We booked this for our 2nd night of running the Coast to Coast and we could not have asked for a better welcome. As we fell into the shop very tired, he supplied us with some food from the shop and showed us round our spotless bedroom and en-suite. Even though we had arrived late, he was more than happy...
