From the moment we arrived until we left, we were treated as valued guests. Everyone had a 'can-do' attitude and looked after our every need with good humour and a smile. The food and the service in the restaurant were excellent, the rooms were clean and the whole experience made our stay in the Lake District one to remember. Well... more

Me and boyfriend stayed at the North Lakes for the valentines weekend, we booked it on the last minute. It was quite expensive, at 500 pounds for 2 nights bed and breakfast. This also included a 3 course meal on valentines night. The rooms are only small but just the right size for 2 people, we upgraded to an executive... more

very convenient for access to M6 And Lake District. Leisure and dining facilities were very good, with bonus of being able to walk into town. Rooms are obviously going through a revamp as a colleagues room was better decorated and fitted than mine, which was a bit dated, the room wasnt very big with limited floor space around the bed... more

We went to the hotel prior to taking part in a charity event, a triathlon type thing. I went to bed early to find my half of the mattress had collapsed. I called room service but short of moving rooms there was nothing they could do and I wanted an early night. Housekeeping should have spotted it, I feel. Next... more

Aug 19, 2008 | Trip type: Family

We stayed in an Executive family room for 2 nights to break our trip home from Scotland (two children aged 10 and 14).The room felt very cramped despite having paid a higher rate for the "executive" standard - I would have found anything smaller intolerable. Also there was very limited storage space as one "wardrobe" was full of spare pillows,... more

Seven of my family stayed here for 2 nights after a 7 hour journey and on our way to Scotland. On the outside looks like a normal hotel just off the motorway but once inside felt like more of a tucked away hotel with beams and fires. The rooms were really nice and very comfortable. My 9 year old son... more

The hotel is just off junction 40 of the M6 near Penrith and therefore easy to find. We (family with two children) stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it. The room was about average with just enough space and the hotel reception, bar, restaurant and spa were spacious, comfortable and relaxing. The food and service were very good and friendly. Breakfast... more

Stayed here on a spa break with my partner on a dinner, B&B basis with spa treatments. On first impression i was dissapointed with the reception as they had booked us a twin however on our confirmation it stated a double. We then had to stay in a connecting room as there were no doubles left. Rooms were on the... more

Just returned from a short breaks in the Lake District and stayed at the North Lakes. Service was very good, staff were friendly and very helpful. the speed of service in the restaurant was also very good. Food - the dinners were excellent. Good selection and beautifully cooked. Breakfast is basically a buffet and is as good as you get... more

Me and my partner stayed here when my partner proposed. The hotel itself is quite ugly on the outside and near a main road, I kind of thought at the time that it might be in some lush field or something but it wasn't! The inside had a log fire and was very cosy and welcoming. The room was lovely.... more
