We stayed here on the C2C cycle ride. They stored our bikes safely at the back of the house. The rooms were very comfortable, the showers excellent and the breakfast was substantial and good for vegetarians. It's not in the nicest part of town, but only a few minutes walk to the centre of Penrith.

My husband and I spent two nights here in April and we were very impressed with the Ashberry. It is very clean and modern and the rooms are beautifully designed. We stayed in a room facing the front. It was quiet and very comfortable.Bottles of water replaced daily as were items of tea, coffee and biscuits.Very good choice for breakfast. There is a lovely... On our way to Scotland stopped off in Penrith and thought that the Ashberry looked like a nice place to stay. Vanda & Phil could not have been better hosts, it was like seeing old friends again, they are so welcoming; the room was spotless and the breakfast was delicious with the best real poached eggs ever! I would recommend... More

A very friendly welcome and absolute attention to detail are the keys to this B&B; from off-street parking (a problem close to Penrith centre), to a spotlessly clean room, to free WiFi (unbelievable some hotels still charge £15 a night for WiFi) and to a great breakfast served when convenient to the guest (within reason!). This was my first stay... More

Phil and Vanda run an excellent B&B. The ground floor room we had was excellent - suited us well although we did not need the accessible features of the ensuite. The king size bed was comfortable and decor very attractive. In retrospect I wonder if there is sufficient space to negotiate a wheelchair? Breakfast was excellent. The location is a... More

Booked first stay with LateRooms and had a great time staying in Room 6 on the ground floor. Stayed 2 nights in August. Every consideration given to assist husband at breakfast. Great hosts. Booked again when returning from Northern Ireland as we knew it would be a good stay over. Room 4 was very good with good sized shower. Planning... More

We stayed for two nights en route to Scotland from a holiday in Wales. This is a gem of a place. The owners have considered everything to ensure a comfortable stay. There is on site parking, very comfortable rooms and fantastic cooked to order breakfasts. I would highly recommend Ashberry House. We travel to the Lake District at least once... More

Couldnt fault anything about my stay - I travel extensively for business and this is one of the best places I have stayed in for a long time. I rang up to book in advance - the owner was very friendly and helpful over the phone. There was on site Parking. The building is completely renovated - all the decor... More

Really lovely clean guest house. Very friendly and helpful owners and breakfast good with healthy choices. We were doing the coast2coast cycle and were grateful for the comfortable beds and modern furnishings. They were even willing to accommodate our very early breakfast request and made us great packed lunches. The owner was also very helpful trying to find us a... More
