Simply decorated, which suits me, but to a good standard, everything works. Comfy bed, excellent bathroom. Excellent breakfast, helpful and attentive host. We paid £140 for a double for 2 nights, which is about average for the standard and locale. Can't fault it. Recommended.

I stayed here for 2 nights before my wedding. Phil & Vanda made us feel very welcome (and relaxed!). The little touches like Vanda coming out of the kitchen at breakfast to meet her guests was a nice touch but they were never intrusive and left you to enjoy breakfast (and a very good one at that!) whilst always being... Definitely going back fantastic stay, the rooms are like hotel rooms spotless roomy with the most comfortable beds, ensuites are stylish and the shower was proper. The owners are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, breakfast had such a variety and set us up for the day. Couldn't wish for a better stay and can't wait to go... More

Just returned from Ashberry Guest House. What a lovely place. Phil, the owner, greeted us on arrival and couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I had emailed him previously and asked if there was anywhere with live music and he had rang around and found a pub with live music on for us. Had... More

Arrived at the Ashberry, which is clean and well maintained. We were greeted by Phil, a very pleasant, friendly person. In fact, a bit too friendly, as he didn't appear to know when to stop talking. Maybe it was an attempt to be friendly and helpful, but it bordered at times on intrusive. We were shown to our room, which... More

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, what a torrid time you had!!! I must admit when I read your essay I was quite taken aback, as you never informed us of any of these issues when you departed. I then went on to read some of your other reviews about other places you also have visited. I think in this... More

If you want an immaculate, well run, friendly B&B in this area look no further, this is the place. It is easy to find, handy for the town centre and has plenty of parking space. The proprietors are very friendly, personable and helpful without being overbearing. The breakfast menu was varied enough to suit all the needs of the eight... More

Ashberry is a modern, purpose built Guest House close to central Penrith. It lacks scenic views, situated next door to a leisure centre and at the junction of a reasonably busy road. Being purpose built and modern, Ashberry is well laid out and the road had no impact on our nights sleep because we were insulated from any noise by... More
