We have just got back from a weekend away, I chose this place to stay as we wanted to be walking distance from the town centre and this place was perfect. Penrith is a nice little town with lots of pubs, we did our looking about in the morning visited Ullswater and then went to Penrith. Thanks for a lovely... More

Off street parking (RARE in Penrith), close to restaurants, fantastic breakfast, immaculate rooms and a comfortable living room to relax in if you like. Perfect. I've stayed in 6 guest houses in Penrith over time and this is head & shoulders above the rest.

This was a stopover for us on the way to Scotland. Despite being by a busy road we wished we had stayed here. It is lovely. A lovely welcome and nothing is too much. The rooms are fresh, comfortable and spotless and there is everything you need in them. They are not huge but there is enough space. The breakfasts... More

The attention to detail evident in this guest house is impressive and superior to most hotels. Examples in our room were four glass tumblers, large mugs for tea, proper coat-hangers (not the annoying anti-theft ones) in a large wardrobe, a tray for muddy boots, two mirrors, a desk reading lamp and a good hair dryer. Our room 3 was clean,... More

I stayed hear many times when working at a local office in the area. This guesthouse is a gem, firstly Phil and Vanda are just fantastic. Its so nice to arrive and have a friendly chat with someone rather than just getting the key from the normal robot on reception. I have stayed in every room in this guesthouse over... More

We stayed here on our way up to Scotland. What a wonderful start to our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for Phil and his wife and we felt like "friends" rather than guests. The bedrooms were beautifully appointed, spotless and the bed so comfortable. The breakfast was scrummy and we didn't really want to leave. One night wasn't long... More

This stylish but down-to-earth b&b ticked all our important boxes: competitively-priced, sparklingly clean, smartly furnished, comfortable bed, quiet room, warm, unpretentious and convenient for both town centre and access to the Lakes. The range of cereals and beverages available for breakfast was huge, the cooked food excellent and the service nothing short of exceptional. But what really blew us away... More

Simply decorated, which suits me, but to a good standard, everything works. Comfy bed, excellent bathroom. Excellent breakfast, helpful and attentive host. We paid £140 for a double for 2 nights, which is about average for the standard and locale. Can't fault it. Recommended.

I stayed here for 2 nights before my wedding. Phil & Vanda made us feel very welcome (and relaxed!). The little touches like Vanda coming out of the kitchen at breakfast to meet her guests was a nice touch but they were never intrusive and left you to enjoy breakfast (and a very good one at that!) whilst always being... Definitely going back fantastic stay, the rooms are like hotel rooms spotless roomy with the most comfortable beds, ensuites are stylish and the shower was proper. The owners are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, breakfast had such a variety and set us up for the day. Couldn't wish for a better stay and can't wait to go... More
