My wife and I went on our honeymoon and we stayed in Lowthwaite. It was excellent. Well deserved of the five star reviews above. It was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the owner was so nice and helpful. We will definitely go back. The Lake District should be seen by everyone at some point in their life. Lowthwaite is... More

Just come back from a visit with my family for my birthday and would highly recommend. The room was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom with robes & lots of fluffy towels. Cakes or muffins on arrival - and the next day - which were excellent. The breakfasts were the best I've ever had in a B&B and a great... More

We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our travels around England and we are still talking about the fantastic breakfasts!! Tine and Jim were great hosts, very welcoming, informative yet not intrusive at all. We stayed in the garden room which was lovely, it had its own entrance and we were able to watch a red squirrel... Spent 2 nights here a couple of weeks ago and were so pleased with our choice. Peaceful location but very convenient for the surrounding area's attractions. We were lucky enough to have the garden room, with it's own bench and table outside and 'front door'. Spotlessly clean room with everything we needed, pleasant seating area, comfy bed, tea/coffee and Tine's... More

Me and some friends stayed here during a hiking trip in the lakes. From the moment of our arrival to the moment we left we were welcomed and given truly amazing service. The food we had for breakfast was excellent with an amazing array of choices.

My niece and I stayed overnight in this lovely B&B. Jim and Tina were perfect hosts and the breakfast was as good, if not better, than any first class hotel. The room was well appointed, beautifully clean and inviting. I only wish we had booked for another night. I would highly recommend staying at this fantastic B&B.

If you want somewhere to stay in the Lake District, then this is the place to book. What I look for in a B&B is a very comfortable bed, spotlessly clean rooms, excellent food and something a little bit different. All of these came in abundance at Lowthwaite B&B run by Tine and Jim. Tine is clearly an excellent cook,... More

Tucked into a hillside with great views this B&B surpassed our expectations. Very friendly and warm greeting with super be rooms furnished and decorated by the owners using pieces brought back from their time in Tanzania. It brought back great memories for us for our travels here. The rooms are well appointed, great shower and bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and... More

We stayed 3 nights in June and can highly recommend this B&B. Tine and Jim were fantastic hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Tine is a fantastic cook producing lovely meals, breakfast has lots of choice and we had a pre-booked evening meal which was delicious. Both Jim and Tine were knowledgable about the area and helped advise us... More

We stayed here for 3 nights recently to attend a nearby wedding. Lowthwaite really offers everything you could hope for from a countryside B&B - it's in a beautiful location, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the hosts (Jim and Tine) know and love the local area, and the food is amazing (much better quality than I have seen in...
