Thank you for a great 3 day Bank Holiday stay. The room was lovely with a fantastic view of Skiddaw. (Room 4) The Breakfast was fantastic, freshly brewed coffee with a choice of which type you would like. You can have a full breakfast or any combination of ingredients. Eggs Benedict, Kippers on Toast, Smoked Salmon & Scrambled egg's are... More

My partner and I have just returned from Keswick after spending two nights in the Shemara Guest House. Thought the weather wasn't the best, the hospitality from the owners of Shemara was great. And the Thai restaurant that is part of the Guest House is very good. Though it is small it is cosy and tasted as good as it... More

We stayed here for two nights and found the breakfast was fulsome and good quality, the view from our window excellent and ever-changing, the proprietors affable, fixtures and fittings in good repair, the bed comfy rather than careworn, the location ideally suited within the town centre, near public transport connections, and the evening Thai food was really tasty with no... Been visiting Keswick for over 30 years. First time staying at this place. Booked it mainly because of Thai restaurant.Reviews had all been good. Nothing wrong with room. Run by Richard and Fon. I booked evening meal (7.30) in the restaurant ( breakfast room). We went out for evening drink and returned at 7.25 to be met by Richard who... More

Thank you for your review, we have been waiting for it as Fon heard you comment in the dining room that you could not wait to review us on Tripadvisor. I again apologise for the mistake I made when I thought you were with the party who had turned up late, I had not seen you when you checked in... More

This B & B is right in the heart of Keswick, it has 6 rooms and a Thai restaurant, closed Tuesdays. If you want to eat in the restaurant reserve when you book. The B &b is operated by a couple, he is English she is Thai, and she is a great cook. Downsides- Parking for 4 cars only and... More

This was my first stay at the shemara, where I stayed with my parents for a quick break and get away. We were met by the owner, she was lovely and was very welcoming. My room was small but very clean and more than ample. We booked into the restaurant for our evening meal (Thai) and it was absolutely delicious.... More

We have now stayed at Shemara for the last 6 years (this stay for 11 days) and as in previous stays everything was superb. The breakfast menu has a huge choice and what ever you order is cooked to perfection. The hosts Richard and Sayfon work very hard to make the time spent with them an enjoyable one.

We arrived in Keswick on the Bank Holiday weekend and had not booked anywhere, however there are many guest houses and about 50% of them seemed to have vacancies. Luckily for us we chose Shemara. Right in the centre of the town in a lovely elevated position, we were shown to a wonderful double aspect room with a mountain view.... More

Shemara was an unknown to us, but other reviewers seemed to like it. We have to agree entirely. Based right in the centre of Keswick, literally 100 yards from the main street, it is ideally located for the town, and with easy access to the roads around, convenient for access to the rest of the Lakes. The breakfast will set... More

We had not worked out where to stay in Keswick so as we drove through town we picked on a line of four B&Bs near the centre of town. Three of them had the ‘no vacancy’ sign up and Shemara didn’t so we tried our luck. There was a choice of a larger £85 room or a smaller £75 room.... More
