Had a lovely stay at the Shemara guest house on the very edge of Keswick town centre over the August bank holiday. If your early enough you can park directly outside the hotel, but there is plenty of room just over the road in a pay and stay car park. Our room was small but very clean and tidy with... More

Stayed at the guesthouse as previously ate at their Taste of Thailand restaurant, we were very happy with every aspect of our visit. We stayed in room 4 and had beautiful views of the stunning Mountains. The room itself was warm and toasty, huge bath and all mod cons including bottled water and a shoe shine kit. We were lucky... We visited Shemara guest house for 3 nights whilst on a walking trip in the Lakes. It is very well positioned for going into Keswick in the evenings, parking is an issue if you can't get one of the 5 spaces available outside the guest house. Our party of 3 stayed in a twin and a single room. The rooms... More

Didn't want to leave and will be back. Loved the fridge with real milk on the landing, so you can make a decent brew in your room. They have little pots of yeuch for the less discerning tea drinker, as well. We had room 7, three flights of stairs walkers... But great view of Catbells. The breakfasts are to die... More

My wife and myself stayed at the Guest House between 21 and 23 August this year. We were welcomed by the owner who is a lovely kind Thai lady with a huge smile. We stayed in room No. 3 which is beautifully laid out with a huge double bed and two lovely chairs facing the bay windows which gives a... More

Stayed here 2 nights 21st and 22nd August. Me and my wife were in room 7 on the 3rd floor. Lovely modern bathroom with shower cubicle. Bedroom was a little dated but for the price was fine. Would loved to have eaten in the restaurant but alas it was fully booked both nights, the smell of the food was amazing. We... More

My mother and I stayed in this guest house on the top floor, which was 3 flights of stairs up, we were walk ins so it was all that was available. The room was small but it was very clean and tidy and had a great view across the mountains. The owners were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was... More

This was my first time staying at the Shemara. I had a lovely en-suite room for one. It was perfect and had a stunning view across the town to the distant hills. The room and bathroom was spotless. The en-suite looks like a later addition to the room but it has been done extremely well - solid walls and quality... More
