Just got home from a return visit to Uzzicar. It was just as good as last time. I can't believe the review I have just read from Ginger 12014, it must have been meant for somewhere else!!. Despite awful weather, we had a great weekend. The house was lovely and warm when we came in soaking and Helen dried our... More

Where to start? From the moment we arrived in a gale and couldn't even find how to enter the farm as the exterior light was 'broken' this was a dispiriting destination. An indifferent, uncaring hostess, a cold room with an unheated bathroom, not even a bar of soap on offer. Yet behind the plastic window curtain we found a few... More

The Newland's Valley took our breath away, a place a beauty seemingly beyond imagination and so incredibly quiet and rural compared to other places in the Lake District. You really get away from it all here. We loved staying at a real farm in such an unspoiled place. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good, and the joy... More

We have just got back from a 2 night stay at Uzzicar Farm and I would definately recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the Keswick area. The room (we stayed in the family room) was extremely clean with nice finishing touches, shower gel etc. The family running the bed and breakfast were very welcoming and friendly and the breakfast... My wife and I stayed at Uzzicar Farm B&B for three nights with another couple while touring the Lake District near Keswick. The B&B room was clean and comfortable but was a bit small and tight. However, we wanted to stay in beautiful Newland's Valley on a working farm and that is exactly what we ended up doing. While there,... More

We were very much looking forward to a genuine farmhouse experience on our first trip to Britain with our two young sons but unfortunately were quite disappointed. The location in the Newland's Valley outside of Keswick was quite nice but the the farmhouse itself was in relative disrepair, even allowing for it's 500 years, and our room itself was a... More

We have stayed at Uzzicar farm about half a dozen times now and would not want to stay anywhere else. The farm is in an idyllic spot, far enough out of the town of Keswick to be 'in the countryside', but close enough for all that Keswick has to offer. The whole point of coming to Uzzicar is the peace... More

My family and I have stayed at Uzzicar Farm 3 times now. The setting is idyllic, in a tranquil valley away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to town for convenience. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, the amenities are perfect, and the traditional breakfast is a treat, a perfect set up for a day of hill walking.... More

This is a traditional family-run B&B in a wonderful peaceful setting at the foot of the fells. The walks are literally a stone's throw a way and the host is welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the ensuite double room and found it spacious and comfortable with all mod cons. Our host Helen is from the local area and can... More

I definitely do NOT agree with deigo762. This B&B is lovely. Helen couldn't have been more helpful and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, slept like babies!!. The room was very clean and well equipped. My wife and I couldn't have asked for better accommodation or hosts. We had a huge breakfast with plenty of choice complete with fresh eggs from... More
