Oakthwaite House is a wonderful B&B, perfectly situated a short walk from Keswick town centre. David & Karen are really welcoming without being at all intrusive. Breakfast is a real treat, with granola as a particular speciality. We have returned several times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are spotlessly clean, with pristine white linen, and boast great bathrooms with power... More

This is our second visit to Keswick and Oakthwaite House. We had a really great New Year's break - brilliant atmosphere in the town square at midnight. Oakthwaite is a must - simply great rooms, breakfast and hosts! Good quality B&B and value for money. We hopefully will be back again soon! More

From the moment we arrived David was helpful and attentive, nothing seemed too much trouble. The room was brilliantly clean, modern and well equipped (hair dryer, iron & board). There was good quality tea and coffee with lovely biscuits, a TV with built in DVD player (selection of DVDs at the top of the stairs), a very new looking en... More

We decided to have a long weekend in the Lake district, to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversery. This is our fourth time staying with David, Karen and there beautiful little girl Edith, like the other three, it was excellent. We stayed for a third time in room 4, the compact double dormer, once again superbly spotless. On a previous visit... More

Had a wonderful second visit to oakthwaite house, a huge thank you to David and Karen for being wonderful hosts yet again. It's the second time we have visited and the compact dormer room we were in was homely, clean and beautifully presented. The breakfasts choices are amazing and set you up well for the wonderful walks in the surrounding... More

Just back home from my 4th stay at Oakthwaite. Once again, everything was first class. Booked the kingsize room this time (room 5). It's a lovely room & has had a fab new en-suite installed (since last time I was there). Amazing shower. Could have stood in it for hours! Again, room was spotless, breakfast scrumptious & stay very enjoyable.... More
