This B & B is very relaxing and home from home. Were able to park outside and was a good base for most walks. The breakfasts were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble for Denise and Rod. I would recommend this B&B to all my friends.

stayed here for 1 night (should have stayed longer!) whilst walking the Cumbrian Way. Spent three knights at Portland House on a walking trip with two friends. The proprietors, Denise and Rod were especially welcoming and hospitable. The breakfasts were excellent, the rooms were spotless and well appointed and the setting was very quiet. The location is good with easy access on foot to the town centre. Looking forward to returning.

Rod and Denise are wonderful hosts and look after your every need!. All of the rooms were spotless and the home-made shortbread was delicious!!! A great time had by all and I would definately recommend this as THE place to stay in Keswick!! Can't wait to go back!!
