I recently stayed here for three nights as I was visiting Keswick for work. The area had been badly hit by flooding, with the result that the town is currently quieter than it usually, the local supermarket has the bare necessities, buses are on an emergency timetable, and the road through the Lake District is cut off. But the local... More

Libby reminded me what I loved so much about backpacking in the middle east. Arriving there, I was greeted with a friendly welcome. For someone who just wants to get out and explore, this is the place for you. It's full of other hikers and adventurers so you'll be sure to find similar personalities. It isn't a hopping place but... More

Friendly and welcoming hostel a little way out of the town centre. They had no private rooms available so we were in the Annexe Building, which was a mixed-sex dormitory. The beds weren't bad although not quite as comfortable as in the YHA hostels we'd stayed in on the previous two nights. Our mistake was to pick the bunks at... More

hostel is within easy walking distance of Keswick Town Centre. Very clean hostel (great showers, spacious dining area, good storage/drying facilities) and really friendly, helpful staff - strongly recommend it for any travellers coming to the Lake District!

This hostel is about 5 minutes walk from Keswick Town Centre. Took a bus (stagecoach X4/X5) from Penrith Train Station to the hostel, which is conveniently located next to the main road to Keswick Town Centre. I got the dorm room for 6 person for myself. The room & toilet were clean, the bed was comfortable but a little quite... More

We were given a room to ourselves, and the beds were comfortable. Mostly old style wooden bunkbeds but everything was clean. Huge sash windows can be opened to keep cool as there was no clear way to kill the heating. A very large dining room with vending machine available at all hours and TV room. We were able to make... I stayed here for one night. Staff were really friendly and helpful, very welcoming. I got a room to myself, which was nice. However, they have no way to lock your room door at night, which had me concerned about my safety and my belongings being stolen. In fact, when I was sleeping, you can imagine the fright I had... Rooms were great for our group of 9. Beds comfortable and everything was clean. Only gripe was that the showers were either ice cold or burning hot. We also couldnt turn down the heating in our room and it did get very warm in the night. Overall, nice bunkhouse/hostel in a decent location
