Spent a lovely 2 day break at Overwater which was selected as it was number 1 in the keswick area on trip advisor. We weren't disappointed in any aspect of our stay other than it wasn't long enough. Stayed in the garden room which allowed us access to a fantastic whirlpool bath, most welcome after a days walking, our own... more

We had an wonderful time staying at the Overwater Hall. My husband, one-year-old son, and I stayed for 5 nights and loved every minute of it. The staff were extremely accommodating, resourceful, and considerate. We were worried that having a small child might be an issue since the hotel is quite luxurious, but the staff and guests made us feel... more

As described by others perfect ambience in a fantastic location. I was staying overnight in Carlisle and there is no high quality accommodation in Carlisle. Here the welcome is as described by others. Welcomed at the entrance by Luke an excellent intro. I had a small room which was excellent if possibly a little small. My only additional request would... more

My husband and I stayed in the Overwater this year and all I can say is fantastic! Clean bright rooms, friendly and professional staff at all levels who were helpful and informative and did everything possible to make our stay as enjoyable as it could be. We will definitely be back again! more

We arrived on Thurs for a two night stay for my husband's 40th birthday. From the moment we arrived - being greeted at the door by Stephen - to the moment we left (reluctantly) we had a wonderful time. We were in room eight which was a great size with a huge luxurious bathroom. The food was a delight which... more

Just returned today 27.04.09 after an overnight stay. I can only endorse previous comments. This place is really special, beutifully positioned away from it all with no mobile phone reception...idyllic. From arrival to departure you know your experiencing something special. Mid summer or mid winter must be glorious in the surroundings. I cannot wait to think of an excuse to return. Food... more

We spent our Easter break at Overwater Hall. We booked one of the turret rooms (Room 6) which has an impressive four-poster bed. The room was very spacious and extremely comfortable. The hotel is situated in glorious countryside which we explored from the hotel (we didnt use the car at all during our stay) using the hotel,s book of suggested... more

Absolutely delightful place. Huge rooms with everything provided. So comfortable and delightful gardens to walk through. Food was top quality and more than plentiful. Only criticism is it is a dog friendly hotel and my partner is allergic to dog & cat hair, but otherwise faultless. highly recommend for a romantic weekend away or with kids - lots to do... more

My Wife and I are very lucky to live only a short drive from this very special place. We first discovered Overwater 15 years ago, and stayed for a night just before our daughter was born. We fell in love with Overwater then, and we have returned regularly ever since. The hotel is, nestled in an unspoilt valley surrounded by... more

Excellent service from dedicated owner managers. The rooms are comfortable and well equpped, the public rooms are equally comfortable and the dining is quite exceptional. This is not for travellers who feel that a gym, jacuzzi, health spa or beauty treatment is essential. more
