Our 1st stop on our C2C.Great location, in a quiet street yet a few minutes stroll from the town centre. ( which offers a wonderful small independent local cinema 2 minutes walk away). Amanda & Steve offer exactly the right level of welcome and helpful friendliness. Rooms were very comfortable and clean with good showers. Good breakfast to send us... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in June. We had 2 rooms and both of them were great. Steve and Amanda made us feel very welcome and were excellent hosts. The breakfast was perfect. My daughter and I were going to do some hiking while here and Steve gave us great directions on how to begin and also a guidebook... More

Stayed for 2 nights here over the weekend. We were made to feel very welcome straight from the start. My boyfriend had a triathlon whilst we were staying there and they kindly stored his bike safely for him. The day of the triathlon we were up too early for breakfast but they were so thoughtful and cooked us some food... More

My friend and I were made very welcome by Steve and Amanda, who work hard at looking after their guests. A cup of tea on arrival would not have gone amiss - the only B&B where we were not offered one - but that was a minor point and they might have simply forgotten. The bikes were securely locked away... More

We stayed with Amanda and Steve for two nights in the middle of May, in the family room 2. They were perfect hosts. Beautiful house and garden, immaculately clean, fresh, amazing breakfast and very friendly and welcoming. They coped with our special diet brilliantly. In short, this is the best guest house we have ever stayed in! They were great... More

We stayed here for two nights (we wanted to stay for three but we booked only a few days before and it was already booked!). Great location, lovely rooms, very clean and modern. Steve and Amanda are very friendly and helpful. We chose the Rowan Tree as we had mountain bikes, and they provide a lockup area for the bikes.... More

Stayed one night 12 May to extend a short break in The Lakes and we were not disappointed. Rooms immaculate, crisp white bedding, tasteful decor and breakfast was as lovely as our host Steve. We had room 3 on 2nd floor at back which was very quiet. We also dined at The George which is short walk from GH and... More

Rowan Tree is nestled in a busy street choc full of other B&B's; however I doubt whether the others have hosts as good as Steve and Amanda! Parking is difficult given the narrowness of the roads and the sheer volume of cars. However, there are some residential roads 3-4 min walk away. Rowan Tree is about a 5 min walk... More

Perfect location, clean fresh rooms. After check in, strolled into town for some great food at the George Hotel as recommended by our hosts. Following morning saw a top quality (non greasy) traditional breakfast served with as much local knowledge for the day ahead as you needed.

I checked lots of B and B choices through the Keswick Tourist information site and settled on The Rowan Tree Guest House having been impressed by other reviews. Great choice. We stayed for two nights and well warmly welcomed on our arrival. Our bedroom was very comfortable and cosy and we had the most comfortable bed. Steve was very attentive... More
