I had no quibbles with my single room. Certainly oldfashioned but clean and comfortable and, I thought, great value including a good breakfast. Am about to book another week there. more

Sad because it could be so much more. Excellent location in the centre of Keswick and a nice building. The staff were quite nice too but the rooms are pitiful. The worst type of British hotel room - shabby, dirty and soulless (carpets in the bathroom - yes around the toilet too!). Loveless rooms that are certainly not worth the... more

We stayed at "The Queens" for 1 night which happened to be a Saturday. The location is Central on the main street in Keswick, Parking is limited and you have to book ahead and pay extra for a space in their car park. This hotel is fine and it is in an excellent central location. The staff were very friendly, the breakfasts were brilliant and generally the hotel had a very relaxed feel to it. We booked to stay in July 2009, noting that their website says: "# No charge for cancellation if room is cancelled by 6pm on the day of arrival. # Non-arrivals or cancelled after 6pm rooms charged at full first night accommodation rate." We even booked advising them that we may have to cancel in advance, yet they refuse to return... more

The website says "a warm Cumbrian welcome awaits you at the Queens Hotel, Keswick" Our welcome on a cold Dec evening was not very warm and neither was the room we stayed in! Shame as Hotel amenities, food, prices and location are all okay - its just some of the staff let the side down. more
