Been meaning to write this for a couple of weeks now. My husband and I stayed at The Grange and found Sally and Mark most welcoming, our room was clean and modern, the breakfast was excellent and the homemade marmalade is too die for. Thanks for the recipe Sally (I have just made some) probably not as good as yours.... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean, spacious and the beds were very comfy. We couldn't hear other guests in other rooms, which is unusual in a hotel. The views from the hotel were very nice, as was the breakfast! The hotel is 15 minutes walk... more

We stayed at the Grange as it was recommended to us by our Kiwi friends who had stumbled across it. From the moment we arrived we knew we were somewhere special. From the starched sheets (a real treat) to the beautifully decorated rooms (ours was huge). The owners, Mark and Sally were lovely and the breakfast was fantastic. We are... more

I stayed at "The Grange Country House" for a 3 night stay along with my husband, dad and his wife. We had booked with the intention of walking in the Lakes for 2 days and although the weather wasnt great (which we didnt expect in November) it didnt stop us doing the walks we intended. The location of the guest... more

My wife and stayed for a few days and thought that te guest house was lovely, with a very good breakfast. The lounge is not a separate room as it appears. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK ROOM 2 - IT IS DESCRIBED AS SMALL but we did not expect a large broom cupboard. We were never asked on chechout if everything... more

Thank you for this review. In response - we would simply like to mention that the 'small double room' is only bookable direct by telephone so that we can describe the room to you - or through our own website where there is a photograph of the room and a clear description of it. In fact, there are detailed descriptions...

1st impressions of the B&B were very good... lovely gardens and welcoming atmosphere. Thomas showed around the dinning area and to our room. Very helpful and friendly. The property is at the top of a hill. Takes about 5-10 mins to walk to the town. Our room was in the roof. No noise came from other bedrooms. I would recommed... more

My partner and i have recently had a four night stay at The Grange and have returned home totally refreshed and relaxed. On our arrival Mark ( the owner) was most helpful and friendly . The house is beautiful and has very tasteful decor. Our bedroom, even though in the attic was extremely big, comfortable and clean with fantastic fell... more

Their property and view are lovely. The house is very well furnished and beautiful. We were in a small room, but since we were not in the room much, it was fine for us. Breakfast was great and set in a room with a beautiful view. Great location. Worth the price. more

We visited for a couple of nights on a weekend break. A friend of ours also had a room. The house is in an imposing position with fabulous views of the fells. It is beautifully appointed with quality and comfortable furniture/antiques. The decor is tasteful and really complements the house. What struck us most was how friendly, welcoming and professional... more
