We stayed for two nights at this fabulous hotel, this was our second visit to the Highfield and we could not of enjoyed it more. We stayed in room two it was very comfortable, clean and relaxing with a beautiful view from the bay window. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our room. We... more

£110 per night for 2 - nowhere to sit in the bedroom other than the bed. Twin room - one bed had a broken leg and sloped to the right - most uncomfortable and not fixed as promised. Small and cramped bathroom. Hotel but no bar. TV with channels 1 - 5 News 24 and no teletext. Fortunately the weather... more

Stayed in Keswick in an Apartment for 1 week. Booked the restaurant at the Highfield Hotel for my 50th Birthday, and for a special meal it was excellent, the starter of venison was exquisite. Both my partner and i, had a great birthday night here and will definately stay here in the future. The views over Derwentwater to Catbells is... more

Lovely hotel with a pleasant outlook onto the Lake District. The food is fresh, and home cooked with the menu changing every day. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. The hotel is located within walking distance of Keswick town centre and other ammenities making it an ideal 'no need to drive' venue. There is an excellent public transport system... more

We stayed at the Highfield for two nights over a long weekend. Having never visited the Lakes before we found that it was really well located to explore Keswick and the surrounding coutryside. We'd recommend a visit to Booths supermarket (only a five minute walk away) for picnic provisions and beers and cumberland sausages to take home as souvenirs! The... more

Had stayed here last August and had decided that we would go back. Service, staff and food even better than the first time. Howard & Caroline, plus all the staff are so wellcoming that it is a pleasure to stay here. It is not modern, there are no frills but it is a pleasurable experiance. At the front of the... more

My husband and I stayed one night in May for the jazz festival. This hotel is of an extremely high quality. The hosts and all the staff are welcoming, we were offered a cup of hot tea on arrival - it was pouring it down outside! The room was immaculate and very comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee facilities. We... more

After ten years of annual breaks in this hotel we keep coming back. We are both in our fifties, so we have stayed in many places around the world over the year, and this is the only one we keep coming back to. The views over the Lake and of Catbells are magnificent. The food is fantastic. The service exceptional.... more

We booked the full board but decided after the first nights food not to eat there for the evening meal again. The hotel's staff were young, friendly and helpful. We stayed in a turret room, which was very warm, although small and a bit 'tired' but had nice views from the front. more
