We have just stayed here with friends for three nights over the New Year holiday, it has been nothing short of excellent in every respect. The food was outstanding and the lovely staff could not have been more polite and attentive. I don't think that I have eaten better food at any hotel in this country and the Chef is... More

We stayed here for two nights on a visit to the Lake District. The hotel is in a fantastic location. It's a two minute walk to the centre of Keswick and it has great views. If you're staying at the rear of the hotel you see the mountains and if staying at the front you have views of Derwentwater. We... More

Stayed for two nights in the middle of June and can certainly recommend this hotel. It was our first visit to Keswick and the directions provided by the hotel were easy to follow. The car park opposite the rear entrance enables luggage to be taken easily into reception. I had booked room 9 after looking at the hotel's website and... More

We have visited this hotel many times over the last ten years or so. It has a lovely location looking down Borrowdale, and is very conveniently situated for visiting the Theatre by the Lake. During all our many visits, we've probably been about fifteen times, we have found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and we always look forward... More

I stayed here for two nights and can't recommend it highly enough. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was excellent and good value for money and our rooms were lovely with amazing views of the lake and Cat Bells. It is walking distance to the town and the lake so getting around was really easy. I would not... More

The only reason I couldn't give the Highfield a 5-star review was the bedding. Our coil spring mattress was as hard as a rock. And the pillows we're also not up to snuff-Terrible poly-foam variety. The Highfield should have pillow-top mattresses and fluffy down pillows! I'd happily pay more for these creature comforts. That said, the Highfield is a wonderful... More

Four of us ate dinner at Highfields, the starters were tasty and ample, for mains two of us had an excellent piece of beef, one had the guinea fowl and one had the monkfish tempura all were very good as were the sweets which were all good and large portions. Wine was very reasonably priced. The service attentive and appropriate.... More

I stayed here for a couple of days whilst on an outdoor course. The hotel is very well located to many of Keswick's amenities and the town centre is just a short walk away. There is a very handy car park at the rear and you can walk into the hotel using the back entrance which avoids walking around with... More

Keswick is a great base for hiking and we were blessed with excellent weather for all of our 5 night stay. The hotel is on a quiet road, from which you can walk in minutes to the Lake and the theatre in one direction and in the other direction in minutes into town. The thing we enjoyed most about the Highfield...
