Returned again to the Highfield. Although Nick and his wife have moved on the same standards are being set by the management team. Excellent service and food within walking distance of Keswick market square, the lake and the Theatre. Highly recommended.

In town for the Convention, we chose to stay half-board at the Highfield (rather than at our normal B&B), having enjoyed an excellent dinner there in 2014. We booked the unusual and amazing Woodford room, and were most impressed by its size and comfort - more like a suite - with its huge bathroom, 6-foot bed and comfortable raised seating... More

Stayed in the Deluxe Twin for two nights. The room has a small balcony and a gorgeous view. Room and bath were up to date and very clean. The staff members were friendly and helpful. Only a short walk to the shops. Definitely recommend.

We stayed in "The Woodford" which was formally a chapel, with a vaulted ceiling, a large raised sitting area and a magnificent bathroom. The room itself is 15 by 25 and the bathroom is massive as well. The is the nicest room we have stayed in so far on our trip through Scotland and England. The room is beautifully appointed... More

We have visited The Highfield Hotel twice. First as a family and second time we took a guest with us. Both times were superb. Beautiful views from the rooms. The food is spectacular! Superbly presented! Friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

We have withdrawal symptoms if we don't get to visit this hotel each year. The rooms are all beautifully presented and again we had a splendid view across the golf course and down to the lake. Staff are always friendly. Food is superb from the individually presented breakfasts to delicious evening meals - you need to exercise well to earn... More

This really is a superb place . A great location with its own car park which seemed to be a rarity in this part of Keswick. The views over the lake and Hope Park are stunning - drinks on the balcony in the evening with these views are a great way to end the day. Breakfast is excellent - the... More

My friend and I went to this hotel for a short break, the hotel was easy to locate, the welcome warm, professional and homely; our room was beautifully with a fireplace, huge bed, shower and bath facilities. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant after a stroll around Keswick, and the food was sublime, one of the best meals we've... More

I booked this hotel because it had 2 single rooms available. It's a traditional Victorian slate -build lake District hotel; we had comfortable 2nd floor rooms with en-suite. The views from the hotel's elevated position, front and back are fantastic, down Borrrowdale and up to Skiddaw. The reception staff were very helpful. The quality of the food (and the wine... More

Stayed for a couple of nights in April as a birthday treat. I have visited Keswick many times but had never found my way to The Heads, where the hotel is situated, before. Gorgeous situation looking across Derwent Water and into Borrowdale, well seen from both the front garden and our room (no. 17). Worth staying here just for that,... More
