Everytime we visit Keswick we are drawn back to The George cow pie. It is packed with slabs of tender beef and smothered in delicious gravy. Anyone who manages a full sized piece is worthy of a place on 'man vs food!' Heaven, a must for all pie lovers out there!!!

Never have I been to a hotel where the staff are so welcoming and kind! They really do go out of their way to help, making it my new fave hotel in the Lakes. The pub has a great atmosphere and the location is superb being in the heart of Keswick too. I would definitely recommend!!! -Jennifer

This is the first time I have stayed in the George. We had Room 3 which is one of the en suite rooms and is enormous. My wife loved having the large space and the only complaint we had was that there was no heating on when we checked in around 3pm in February. She wasn't at all impressed about... More

Just returned from a three night stay at the George Hotel Keswick and had to write this review to let everyone know what a pleasant place this is. Firstly, it is in a lovely central position but a quiet and narrow road with shops, pubs and even a little cinema within just a few yards. The Hotel overall is of... More

Really liked this place. Our room was spacious and clean, the staff friendly and courteous. The pub itself has real charm and is well placed to walk within Keswick or explore beyond it. We walked a lot, so were particularly appreciative of the generous breakfasts and dinners. Try their chips. Even if you order soup, have it with their chips.... More

Enjoyed a most pleasant two night booking in this lovely historic hotel. Stayed in room 12 which is a good sized ensuite twin bedded room, tv, courtesy tea/coffee/biscuits tray. Plenty of storage, good quality furniture, carpetted and tastefully decorated. Comfy beds and pillows, quality cotton bed linen and towels. Powerful cubicle shower with plenty of hot water, generously proportioned bathroom.... More

Very good hotel, clean, pleasant & original charm of the lake district. Situated in Keswick town centre. Consistently good quality food, helpful staff & a great winter deal. We enjoyed the peace & quiet of early January. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great location right in the heart of Keswick with limited on-site parking. Courteous and friendly staff and a pretty good breakfast. Large spacious room with on-suite (no4). A very large cobweb was included as was the tea/coffee/biscuits etc! Next time I would probably request a duvet cover without the holes in, but to be fair it was clean! Would I... More
