I agree with the other reviews that the decor is tired etc. However for our family of 5 it proved a pleasant and great value stay. They accommodated all 5 of us in proper beds in one room and the breakfast, which was very nice, was included. The location is great for exploring the lakes and the views are lovely.... More

I go here once a month with Ladies Dinner Club, I cannot fault them. Yes it needs a little tlc inside and out but I have both stayed here and eaten here on numerous occasions and I am not the type of person to go back time and time again if I was not completely satisfied with the quality and... This is a totally honest review, on the positive & negatives for this hotel. It was pre-booked for my self and fiancée attending an old school mates re-taking of their vows. On arriving the exterior looked very shabby and the entrance to the hotel was covered (taking over) by some sort of climbing plant that I cannot describe. The entrance... More

We called here forr a quick lunch on our way home from Kendal and found a very shabby hotel ,both outside and inside. Reception was very untidy and chaotic. We waited a while for. A menu to be produced. I ordered a Greek salad which consisted of lots of lettuce ,feta cheese and half a tomato. I said to the... More

The more I stay at this hotel, the more I like it. Like all Trip advisor reviews, it is best to read a number of them, and take a view. The same holds for my three previous reviews of this hotel too. I stand by them all: quaint, quirky, faded jewel perhaps. But the hotel has an unchanging charm, and... More

Stayed here from 6th - 8th. I have been here for the ladys luncheohn club and a couple of talks, sunday lunch (which was excellent) and had wanted to stay. We had our friend over from the USA and thought this would be a great place to aquire some good old English charm. We were not disapointed. The three course... More

We hired crockery from 'Crockery Crisis' which is owned by the Heaves Hotel, for a family celebration. We hired the vintage collection and it was beautiful , all our guests were admiring the crockery and it made the day very special. The ease of ordering , collection and return was very efficient and straight-forward and I would definitely recommend this... More

We have been visiting Heaves House for the last 4/5 years. There is a group of 5 of us who travel to a dog show nearby each year. They were unable to accommodate us this year so had to find alternative accommodation which was okay as a standby. Once we knew the date for next year we were on the... More

I and my friend were travelling back from our day out whilst on a June holiday and we were looking for somewhere to eat. We were driving down a lane off the dual carriageway and spotted a "Whitby Scampi served here" sign so decided to drive down the road and found this hotel. It is accessible for me by a... More
