Just as the other reviews have said, Tony and Caroline host a perfect stop for people walking the Dales Way. Tony offered to drive us to a pub for a meal, but we preferred to have fish and chips from the local place (very good!). They then served it to us in the dining room. We felt extremely well taken... All the previous reviews on trip advisor reflect the wonderful experience of staying at Lakeland Hills. It was like staying with friends, as the personable service and hospitality offered by Tony is exceptional. Terrific bedroom, sun loggers in the garden to rest weary legs, drive to the pub and back, plus sumptuous American pancakes for breakfast. I cannot recommend this... More

Home for the last night of our Dales Way walk, Lakeland Hills is perfect. The ensuite twin room was large, spotless and very well equipped. Tony was a welcoming and highly knowledgeable host who drove us to and back from a local pub for our evening meal. He gave us a DVD to watch, helpful tips for the final day... More

Outstanding b&b for Dales Way walkers. Tony drove us up to the nearby Gateway Inn for our evening meal. Plenty of helpful advice about the final day's walk into Bowness. Excellent breakfast, immaculately clean room, comfortable bed, tea and teabread on arrival. Lots of walking and mountaineering books to read, and interesting DVDs to borrow. Shame to leave.

Confortable room, excellent breakfast, marvellous welcome. Tony drove us to a near pub for dinner, and helped us with information and advice for the last leg of our Dales Way walk. Just the place to stay before your last walk!

A stay at Lakeland Hills must surely be an absolute must for anyone walking the Dales Way. It's absolutely terrific! Our large, twin-bedded room was completely spotless and was equipped with everything you could wish for, and more. The beds were superbly comfy, the en suite was wonderful with a really good shower and, to top it all, our room... More

They say it is run by walkers for walkers and that is just it. They offer everything you could possibly want from competed plasters to beer, Mars bars to paracetemol. They provide a bath, CDs, music system, lifts to a decent restaurant (there are none in town!) the breakfast is great and the people are lovely. NB. Cash only.

Lakeland Hills is both unusual and delightful. Tony is an outdoor expert and enthusiast who offers a unique welcome for Dales Way walkers. He seems to have thought of everything that you might want or need including a number of things you hadn't thought of yet yourself. His sound advice helped us on our way to the perfect end to... This was our last stay on the Dales Way. We arrived rather muddy and tired but were made to feel very at home and welcome, round the table with tea, coffee and delicious tea bread. Tony hung up our wet waterproofs and cleaned the mud off our boots. The room was spacious, comfortable and modern, with an excellent shower room.... More

And on my whole Dales Way walking trail, this homely accomodation tops them all. Tony an experienced traveller shares with zeal information over many cups of tea and cake on offer. The warm cosy bedroom is spacious commanding a pretty garden view. Full english breakfast from local produce proves energizing to my last stage walking into Browneess.
