We booked this hotel back in February for a wedding on Saturday 30th August as it was close to the wedding venue. There were three of us in the group, myself, my husband and my son. I emailed the hotel via booking.com to see if we could book in early, but got no response. I did check the reviews the... More

We were driving from London to Lake district and had plans to book our hotel on our way. However since the internet connection was quite erratic, we couldn't do so and randomly found this one. The lady at the reception was very kind and polite. Since the restaurant had taken their last order, she made sure we had our dinner... More

We were visiting Lake District for the first time and stayed in Stonecross for bank holiday weekend. Our first impression was terrible, after receiving keys to our room we went up to put and the smell after opening the doors were unbearable! Soon enough we noticed mould growing all around the inside of the window. We went back to reception... More

I booked this hotel for the recent bank holiday break for one night at £129.00. I've stayed in several hotels over the past few years in the £130.00 price range that have been magnificent, so I was expecting something decent.... I opened the door to a musty smelling room that was in desperate need of a refurbishment. The head board... More

We booked the Stonecross for 3 nights over the August Bank Holiday Weekend. We had read a couple of negative reviews and were a little worried. I told my partner not to expect too much. When you pull into the car park at the rear and look at the window frames and general appearance - it looks as though it's... More

This hotel is very convenient for Kendal and as a gateway to Windermere/Ambleside and beyond. It is in need of some 'tidying up' in terms of frayed carpet on stairs and the bedroom furniture is a bit chipped in places as well as the paintwork. However, the staff are very attentive (especially the young lads in the bar and restaurant)... More

booked through TravelZoo for my mum as a birthday present. for £95 for a stay with a Queen 4 poster bed, dinner and high tea - it was a good buy! in a GORGEOUS area, with views for miles, especially if you have a front facing room, which we did. it is very rustic, which some people can view as... My partner & I booked Stonecross for 2 nights at the last minute through Superbreak. It is well situated for visiting Kendal & the surrounding areas, on a main road although there is no road noise. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful throughout our stay. We ate in the hotel both nights and the food was delicious. Breakfast... More

Stonecross Manor had so much going for it when I booked the hotel. We stayed for one night and were dealt with fine at arrival and went up to our room. The hotel appears to be in need of an overhaul, with quite dated decor and furnishings, and a musty smell around the place. The bathroom appeared a little unclean... More
