When we arrived about 4pm the house was freezing. The heating wasn't on. Though it had come on by the time we returned at 10.30pm. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. However I wouldn't stay here again in winter, though in summer it would be fine.

Thanks very much for a wonderful stay. Upgraded us to a twin family room when we got there. Lovely and clean, en-suite sparkling! The breakfast was super, very filling, and very quickly made. Couldn't fault the owners, they were very accomodating and helpful. Thanks!

The 555 bus to Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick goes right by and you can get a seat up top before the crowds do at Kendal and Windermere. Also, Oxenholme train station is a pleasant walk or a short taxi ride so you can take the train to Carlisle and on to Settle or Ravenglass for, respectively, scenic views or a... More

Just back from a 2 night stopover in Kendal at the Sundial. A clean and comfy establishment. The breakfast set us both up for the day. The hosts were lovely people and offered good advice for local ameneties, sights and the surrounding area. We would stay there again.

Like most B&B's single rooms are at the top of the house, but it was clean and the bathroom. Owners were very helpful with suitcase which made life a bit nicer. I am an early riser so having breakfast start so late was not the best but the food was great. YES I would stay here again

We stayed here en route from Land's End to John O'Groats. The B&B had everything we needed: secure storage for bikes, close to centre of Kendal and generous breakfasts! Our bikes were also ready and waiting for us in the morning, great service! My knees weren't fantastic by this point so the few steps to our bathroom weren't that welcome,... More

I booked in at sundial as I was in the area running a training course & I have to say they were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. When I arrived I was welcomed by Sue who showed me to my room & was very helpful about where I could go eat, she gave especially good advice... More

Great two-night stay, owners very friendly and breakfast delicious! We chose one of the only two rooms with a shared bathroom which was very clean and excellent value. Overall highly recommended.

We stayed here with our 9 year old daughter for one night on Good Friday. The B&B is ideally located within a pleasurable 10 minute walk of Kendal town centre. I parked at the front of the guest house on arrival and Sue directed me to their private car park which is situated at the rear of the property. We... More
