Visited The Gilpin Bridge with my family for a late lunch / early tea. First impressions of the pub are inviting, warm & friendly. We were greeted immediately upon entering by a friendly Lady (who I assume to be the manager/owner). The establishment is very clean and had a modern homely feel to it. We got the feeling we had... Called in for a meal on 30th December 2014, ordered food at 1.45pm no food arrived by 2.20pm asked waitress who again had to ask what we ordered as they seemed to have lost the order. When challenged over lateness manager was extremely rude, could not recommend this place even though food was good unless you have a couple of... More

Booked in on the last minute between Xmas and New Year. Recently refurbished with very friendly staff. Had evening meal with the family and food was very nice. This morning breakfast and service was excellent. Comfy bed with new furnishings, bathrooms not refurbished in our room but very clean and acceptable. Would recommend people to come and give it a... Love this place it is really nice. But please get some fruit cider behind the bar, your guests need a selection of cider not just Magners. We had a meal and it was lovely, but my partner only drinks fruit cider, but they don't serve it, had we known before hand we would have left.

We called in our way to Bowness just for lunch. The lady who took orders and served the food was very friendly and chatty. The food was very good, I had fish and chips and my wife had the scampi. We decided to call in on our way back a few days later, we were greeted with the same friendly... More

New management has decided this pub will not be dog friendly anymore. I understand dogs are not everyone's cup of tea, especially where food is served, but this is the lakes.... Everywhere is dog friendly. Previously dogs where only allowed in one part of the bar, everyone's happy that way, but for some reason this is no longer the case.... More

We booked in advance for my grandads 86th birthday on remebrance sunday. The service was poor although very trying, we had to order drinks in advance as the wait was long, we had... More
