Looking for an overnight on a journey south we spotted the Station Inn in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide (GBG). We were not disappointed - a cosy bar buzzing with locals, including families, many enjoying the locally sourced menu options. As one would expect from a GBG entry the real ale on offer was very good, as was the roast which... More

I needed to be in the Kendal area but had an early train up to Glasgow in the morning so decided to stay at the station inn. I arrived very late but had a warm welcome. The bar seemed well stocked and friendly. The room, whilst not particularly fancy had everything I needed with a good ensuite and a strong... More

Been here quite a few times. Food is always nice. Went 6th Feb with family. Waitress was pleasant when we first arrived. Took an age before the order was taken. Starter arrived after a short wait. Quite a wait to be cleared and then a bit of a wait for main courses. Waitress just delivered food and went without asking... More

This is great place to go for a pint and food rather than waiting for you next train... Or indeed getting your next train! We were on our way from London to Windermere on a Friday night and our connection to Windermere was cancelled leaving us a bit lost with what to do with ourselves. However on finding this pub... Great little find, just outside of Kendal. Great home cooked traditional food, super portions & good choice of real ales. Great value for money & superb children's play area with a mini golf course & alpacas! We will definitely be back next summer!

This Inn is in the good beer guide which is why my son and my granddaughter and myself visited today. There is a very good play area for children, which my 2 year old granddaughter loved. The Hawkshead Ale that my son ordered was very good and my lime and soda water was also very nice. Unfortunately I cannot say... More

Visiting my mum locally we called for a meal on the way home. There were a few peolpe in but service was good and theres an extensive menu. Even better is the fact that they do smaller portions!! which is excellent, I wish more place would do this for those of us who just cant eat huge meals and get... More

Ate here and was fobbed off when I complained about the badly bloody and undercooked meat. Yuk. Woukd not recomend it for food but the beer is good if you want a pint whilst its not too far from the Station.

Stayed a night mid-august with wife, 2 year old and 5 year old. Family room was comfy and large, and quiet! (Not always a given staying over a pub...) Staff were friendly and the cooked breakfast was really delicious. Even the fussy 2 year old filled up. Only regret was we didn't get there early enough for kids to make... More

I went here with my two sons on a trip and was looking for a pub/hotel and this did not dissappoint. The bar area was the friendliest I've been to for a long time and the food and service was top class. The room was big and clean with two singles and a very large double so plenty of room... More
