Having travelled the World, this must be one of the best I have stayed in. Robert and Helen have created a little gem, and provide the best of service. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time there. If you are in Hawkshead on a sunny day, try having a restful seat up by the church - an idyllic experience.

This cosy guest house is in an idyllic location and has the most beautiful, flower-filled garden. Robert was a most attentive host and made me feel totally at home. The breakfast is absolutely fabulous and renders lunch completely unnecessary! An added bonus is Beatrix Potter's fabled Hill Top just next door. Very highly recommended.

We've stayed at some B&B's and hotels over the years, but this has to by far the best. It is a beautiful cottage that is cosy, idyllic, warming, gorgeous food & very welcoming - we have never stayed anywhere before where you instantly feel at home....the door was opened for us as we walked down the path looking like drowned... This was my second stay at Buckle Yeat and won't be my last. The breakfast is fabulous and keeps you going all day, and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. Thank you Robert and Helen and see you next time!

The guest house is situated in a beautiful location and the exterior of the property is delightful, with its colourful floral display. The room was comfortable with all the essential amenities. The freedom of the property is a genuine privilege, the welcoming fire in the evening a real treat. The breakfast offers a wide choice and was so substantial that... More

I STAYED here for one night and was very pleased. It is a beautiful house with really lovely communal areas. The bedroom was lovely too.Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was excellent. I was a single traveler and my car broke down in Windermere, the proprietors could not have been more helpful, offering to take me to the ferry... More

Lovely Lakeland guest house in small village featured in the books by Beatrix Potter ( Hill Top ,where she lived ,is just next door). Very welcoming hosts, lovely sitting room with open fire always burning, comfy, light, airy room with the squeakiest clean bathroom we have ever seen. Homemade biscuits on the tea tray. Wonderful breakfasts. Good walks from the... More

Stayed here for three nights. Very clean and comfortable with friendly hosts who made great breakfasts. Surrounding countryside is beautiful, with lots of nice walks and wildlife. We like places that are very quiet at night, so this was perfect for us. If you're a Beatrix Potter fan (my ancestors were her housekeeper and gardener) this is the place for... More

Spent 3 nights at this excellent B&B during October half term. Our first visit but it will not be our last. Superb quality accommodation and gorgeous breakfasts. Loved the log fire in the lounge, very welcome after wet walking. Building features in Beatrix Potters stories and Hilltop is virtually next door. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful B&B in great location. Lovely breakfasts cooked to order. If you plan to visit Beatrix Potter's house you will not find a more convenient place to stay - Buckle Yeat is literally a minute's walk away!
