The hosts Sue and Richard, can't do enough for you and you are made to feel very welcome from the moment you arrive (tea or coffee and... More

We were made extremely welcome by Sue and Richard. This characterful secluded house is in a lovely setting just a few minutes walk from Hawkshead church. Sue provides wonderful breakfasts with an extensive choice not usually found in bed and breakfast accommodation eg eggs benedict. Spacious room with a four poster bed and top quality bedding meant we enjoyed two... More

After a very bad year we decided it was time to get away for a few days. Having stayed at the Walker Ground Manor back in 2001 just after Dougie took over we thought it would be just the ticket for a short break. We booked the Front bedroom again with the four poster bed and huge on-suite bathroom and... More

We had the Verandah Room, or annex. It was fantastic. With views of the gardens through the two large French windows, a waterfall outside the side window, and a verandah where you could sit and relax, the room was unique. A large comfortable bed still left plenty of space. The bathroom was finished to a very high standard and even... More

What more can I say, superb!! Amazing hosts, beautiful house everything catered for if you have forgotten anything, nothing is too much trouble and very comfortable. The 4 poster room is huge, comfortable and excellent value for money. The cake is superb as is the breakfast, will definitely stay again!

On arrival we were greeted with tea and the most delicious victoria sponge! We were staying in the veranda room so we had complete privacy and with a lovely bottle of red wine we were able to enjoy the tranquillity of the setting. Breakfast was wonderful and set us up for a good walk up the Old Man of Coniston!... More
