I stayed here with friends for 2 nights in June 2014. Upon arrival we were greeted and made to feel very welcome. Our room was beautiful and overlooked the garden. Breakfast was delicious. The b&b is located just a short walk from some lovely pubs and shops. Overall we had a relaxing weekend, gorgeous surroundings, lovely host who made us... More

Just returned from the Walker Ground Manor. What a little gem this bed and breakfast is. Located over looking the village of Hawkshead. A short but interesting stroll down hill to the village. The facilities at the b and b are first class. Nothing is any trouble to Richard and Sue. Superb hosts. We stayed in the Veranda room. Beautifully... More

My wife and I stayed here 0n 15th. February. We stayed in the four poster room which was very comfortable and had a large bathroom. I would definitely recommend this room if you love history or just luxurious surroundings. Apparently a priest hole runs below the bedroom! The owners made us very welcome and the breakfast was of a very... More

We have just returned from a night at this beautiful B&B nestling in the hills around Hawkshead. A spectacular place which on entering the main doors immediately takes you back to the days of the original Walker in the 1600s. The guest amenities are superb with a choice of lovely rooms and extensive breakfast choices. I have unusual dietary requirements... More

The house is situated at the top of a narrow road and comes with full of character. The rooms are magnificent, clean and very spacious. The owners sue and Richard are... More

We stayed at Walker Ground in November 2014, as a young family with a new four month old daughter, this was our first official 'holiday', and Walker Ground Barn was just ideal for all our needs. The barn is clean, so so spacious, with fantastic bedrooms and just a comfortable, unmatched 'home' feeling that can be so absent from other... More

A delightful place to stay; location is excellent, with walks nearby and easy walk into the village with its pubs and shops. The house is gorgeous! Wonderful welcome from Sue and Richard and nothing is too much trouble. Tea and cake on arrival sitting next to a roaring wood burner, breakfast choice was excellent and delicious. And for added wow... More
