We have visited The Kings Arms many times when staying in the area. It has a really warm and welcoming feel. The food is great and the selection of local beers is the main draw for us. The staff are fantastic and make you feel at home and very welcome. Recently we stayed over night and found our stay to... More

Just like the previous contributor we were woken very early on a Sunday morning by the Co-op delivery artic just outside the hotel, this was a shame and not something we expected in such a picturesque little lakeland village. This hotel served a nice breakfast although having to park in the public car park and the tiny bathroom mean we... More

stopped here for three days in may on a bed breakfast and evening meal deal, must say I was quite impressed at the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff, on top of this they had real ale and we got good weather. one of our better stays in the lakes, hope to return soon.

We stayed here with our dog for the weekend, The experience was excellent. Comfy pub, friendly helpful staff and excellent food. I would highly recommend it as a base for a Lakeland stay. I don't understand some of the negative comments on here. Obviously these people palace dwellers I wanted to right a bad review just to allow the landlord... More

We stayed at a local B&B for 9 nights in April/May and dined at the Kings Arms every night. We found Ed and his staff to be very welcoming and attentive. There is a very good menu plus daily specials and the food is excellent. When we stay in Hawkshead again we will definitely be dining at the Kings Arms... More

Although the village was quieter compared to peak periods the custom was there. So as customary to our own visits to the village a couple of times a year we always either drink or dine at the Kings at some point during the stay. We have always found it to be friendly and welcoming although it was considerably quieter there... More

Dear Mr Piranha, Firstly let me apologise for the lack of customer service you encountered during your latest visit to the Kings Arms. As a ‘regular’ I’m sure you are aware that we can, and normally do, deliver better. It’s a matter of pride for me. Having recently endured the worst trading years on record and the toughest financial climate... More

Just come back from a 2 night break at this hotel. The he room was small but very clean and comfy, TV, free tea/coffee/water and biscuits. Our room overlooked the main square but we weren't disturbed by any noise. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant and it was excellent! Would definitely recommend the creme brûlée with raspberries!!! Breakfast... More

For £46 per person per night a couple should be able to expect more than a tiny room, tired and shabby, barely bigger than the small double bed, a toilet one can't actually sit on because it's too close to the sink (and the lid leans against one's back when one is sitting on it because the fittings that attach...
