Eaten here twice in the last few weeks as I am lucky enough to live in Hawkshead... And have to say the food is amazing.... Lovely scallops to start and an amazing pork belly for mains... God size portions and well priced.. Staff were super friendly and the pub looks so welcoming and has a real country feel... Well done!... More

Sunday lunch ! Fantastic, possibly the best Yorkshire puddings in the world, and the beef ! Excellent food, great staff, lovely surroundings. Perfect, ten out of ten from me, the wife will leave her feedback soon, but She did comment the Yorkshire puds are better than mine, and hers are great!

I have stayed in quite a lot of country inns and I can say without any doubt that this is one of the best I have stayed in. Usually staying in a building that is hundreds of years old comes with some compromises such as small and drafty rooms or out of the way location but not so at the... More

Apart from parking (local car park though no charge) which meant taking bags a short distance, the location is perfect. Excellent for touring that part of the Lakes. Very tastefully decorated and appointed room, good shower, a little small but good value for money; excellent breakfast and evening meals good too - though you need to book because very popular... It had been a year since our last visit to the Queen,s Head in Hawkshead. Last year we stayed in Room 3 and this year in Room 2. The room was large, clean, well decorated and equipped with a four poster bed. Personally we like the uncomplicated contemporary decor, and appreciated having both a separate shower and bath. I was... More

It was very crowded when we arrived, but luckily we had booked. We were quickly seated, given menus and asked what we would like to drink. Staff were very attentive without being overbearing. Our waitress, Elie, was very cheerful and seemed to enjoy her job. The swordfish and pasta dish was delicious, and lamb shoulder to dye for, slow roasted,... More

We really enjoyed our short break at this hotel/pub - aided helpfully by beautiful sunny weather. Our room (12) is the bottom half of the attached cottage to the pub. It was very tastefully appointed and the bathroom was absolutely top notch: a nice long bath for soaking the tired muscles after a hard day's walking and a separate powerful... More

Stayed here 20/8/14. An excellent location for the Country Walks we had planned. Lovely room situated in the annexe cottages. Stayed in room 101. Didn't have to worry about parking as there is a huge car park situated nearby & the hotel take your car reg. & inform the pay & display owners that you are a guest. We ate... More
