The room overlooks the garden and lake beyond. There is a path down to the River Rothay..lots of birds to see...treecreepers, nuthatches, herons....yet to see... more

My brother and i decided to have a long weekend walking around grasmere and we were at a loss to know where to stay, for years we had stayed at a lovely bed and breakfast in red lion sq in grasmere, but unfortunatly it changed a while ago recently and now only caters for couples. We were lucky enough to... more

Stayed in this delightful B and B on oct 17,18. There are four rooms and since we booked late we were in the smaller (but cheapest) room. It isn't too small and has a great shower. The location is fantastic set back sufficiently off the road in grasmere that makes it a peaceful place to stay with lovely garden, great... more

My husband and I wanted to extend our visit in the Lake District in the U.K. at the last minute and also wanted a self-catering accomodation. Walking through Grasmere, where we were already staying, we noticed the sign for Lake View. We knocked on the door and were met by the owner, Michelle, who did indeed have an apartment for... more

Michelle's attention to detail is amazing; there is nothing missing from needle and thread to footspa! Generous breakfast selection using excellent quality produce. Two... more

We stayed in the Lake View Country House for a four-day weekend with friends and had a great time there. We had the Lakeview room and our friends the Fellside suite. Both were beautifully appointed with lots of personal detail in the old English countryhouse style. Our bathroom was small, but very nice with Jaccuzi bath and good quality toiletries... more

Basically we liked everything outside the walls at the Lake View: the quiet location in Grasmere on a private street close to shops and restaurants, the view of the lake and hills, the garden and the badgers, the path to the lake. Indoors was not so pleasing. The side garden was private, the large lounge with a view of the... more
