Only a 10 minute walk from Grasmere centre and public bridle ways up to the Lion and the Lamb directly across the road for easy walking. Superb friendly service with a bar manager very knowledgeable about spirits (although the selection was a little basic). Very comfortable in atmosphere with a good food menu. Rooms work well although are very very... More

I'm a little surprised you've found the room to be hot, but I guess that's a personal preference - the rooms at the back... More

Whilst staying at a fab cottage in Grasmere recently, we were told about this place and duly took the 20 minute walk to go and see what the fuss was all about. Grasmere has quite a few pubs and restaurants, but they tend to be pricey..one pub charged us £8 for a pint of bitter and half a lager, which,... More

We visited here after a long walk. The pub is dog friendly which is great. The food we had was lovely but a shame they had run out of rice so we couldn't have the chilli or curry. Service was great. Beer was also good and the waitress had a treat for our dog. Very sweet. Will be going back.

We booked for a traditional coaching house / country inn style pub, suitable for walkers, dogs, diners and locals alike, and that's what we got. The dinner menu was varied and interesting, with good quality wines and the option of a country-pub bar or comfortable dining area to enjoy our meal. The staff were great, the food was good, and... This Inn is on the main road to Keswick about half a mile outside Grasmere. The room was very comfortable with tea/coffee facilities, and a very modern bathroom with the most amazing deluge type shower I have ever had. The only thing which let the room down was lack of double glazing which made the traffic noise very loud indeed,... More

Thank you very much for your review, I'm really glad you've enjoyed your stay with us! Traveller's Rest is in a very convenient location for those wishing to explore different parts of the Lakes. The lack of double glazing is a wider problem in the Lakes and is due to the planning permissions restrictions for the more traditional buildings in... More

We visited The Travellers Rest Inn for lunch on a beautiful Monday afternoon. The patio area is in a lovely suntrap, with stunning views on either side. The service was great, very attentive, and there was a great relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed the house red, and the beers on tap were nice too. We could happily have sat there all... More

I stayed here for 2 nights this week and thought the hotel was great. My room was on the front of the hotel and I found it a bit noisy in the morning but that would not put me off visiting again. The room was clean with tea and coffee facilities and it had a shower room. This was on... More

During our stay in the Lakes we decided to eat here one Sunday evening. The pub is situated on the very busy A591 so once you have parked your car be very careful of the traffic as you make your way to the front entrance. The road is extremely fast so just watch your step going in and out. The... More

We stayed for one night at this lovely little pub. Plenty of car parking and greeted by a very friendly member of staff. We were shown to room 1 which was on the front and quite pleasant but on closer inspection the shower room was very small. I asked if we could have a room with a bigger bathroom and... More

While first impressions were really good as the rooms are nice and it's a nice quaint place I had a few issues which stopped me rating this any higher - there was no wifi despite it being advertised, my room was so hot that the 70mph winds outside and my open window didn't seem to make any difference so I... Thank you very much for your honest feedback, I am very disappointed that the service you have received was not up to the standard expected. I would like to understand more about the extra charges on your bill - this is not something we do and I am really disappointed that an unexplained, additional charge has made it's way on... More
