Room 14 is over-rated. It should be classified as a Standard room, not a 'Classic' room. It's very small and the white paintwork is badly chipped. The standard of the lobby is far better than the bedroom - Hold on a minute.....shouldn't that be the other way around for customer satisfaction?? My wife and I were offered a dinner table,... More

Dale Lodge Hotel is right in the middle of Grasmere, a great location. We ate in Tweedies restaurant both nights, be warned you have to go round the outside of the building to get there, a couple of minutes walk if raining. The lodge restaurant is furnished nicely but has absolutely no atmosphere, and the same menu as Tweedies so... More

After 3 days walking C2C it was lovely to be made so welcome, despite its grand appearance Incey the dog was made most welcome. The best bit was the Molton Brown bath products in the en suite, just what the doctor ordered for a long relaxing soak! We ate in Tweedies Bar that evening again dog friendly. The room could... More

Stayed two nights on a Lakes holiday and really enjoyed it. The hotel is in the village centre, but set in its own grounds so you'd never know. Our room was spacious and well quipped, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was good, especially the simpler dishes. We would be happy to stay there again.

Arrived at this Hotel in the Evening as arranged only to find nobody on reception, we waited for approx. Five mins before another guest who was on the way out told us the receptionist was in the bar. She arrived shortly after this apologising , she asked about our journey and told us about the Hotel etc, and then asked... More

It can be quite difficult to find a room which is truly wheelchair accessible however this hotel has one. It's a boutique type hotel which is beautifully decorated. The grounds are lovely and staff helpful and attentive. We ate in the main restaurant in the evening and it was a good meal. The breakfast was filling and had a great... More

Our third time at Dale Lodge and it never fails to disappoint us. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly - big thanks to Craig who was fantastic as always. The hotel is decorated in a lovely style and has everything you need after a long day walking. The Mews have the hot tub which is always empty, warm and... More

Firstly I must say that we did not stay here and to be fair I believe for that it has some good reviews for that. However we booked here for dinner on a Sunday night and therefore we chose the restaurant and not the bar. We should not have bothered as the menu in the restaurant was evidently the same... More

Impressive hotel in gorgeous location. Although in the very centre of Grasmere, you feel out of the hustle and bustle. Reception rooms are beautifully decorated and feel like a real special hotel. The bedrooms we stayed in, however, were very small and not in keeping with rest of hotel. They were 'ok' for two nights but wouldn't like to have... More

We have just returned from a family birthday weekend at The Dale Lodge. We have had a fantastic weekend, the hotel is beautiful set in lovely grounds with lots of parking spaces too!! Which is always a bonus. It is a beautiful hotel with many character features. The staff have been fantastic and nothing we have asked has been too... More
