I went for afternoon tea with my mum and sister after hearing about this advertised on lakeland radio. We have never been so disappointed. My sister is a vegetarian so we rang in advance to inform them of this....when we arrived, there were three choices of sandwiches on the tray- ham & picallili, tuna & sweetcorn and egg mayonnaise. When... More

We stayed two nights at this quaint and lovely boutique hotel and we enjoyed it a lot. It's family run and everyone is helpful and friendly. We had a double standard room and although the bed was comfortable, we had some issue with the wifi (very slow). The room was tiny, more like a single than double, so was the... More

We spent 3 nights in Dale Lodge in July. Pros The food in the bar was excellent. I had the pork and the serving size was spot on though I think big eaters may not have agreed with me. The portion was small to moderate but the quality was unquestionable, delicious. My husband had the pie and again the home... More

Stayed at the Dale Lodge hotel in May on way home from other location in the lake district after completing the Keswick to Barrow 40 the day before. The location is superb the hotel is excellant with plenty of parking in the grounds. On arrival we were given a free upgrade which was a nice touch from the reception staff.... More

We enjoyed our stay, but the room was cramped. Our on suite was a cupboard in essence, stood up from loo and one could hit their hip on sink, three or four steps from there, you would be in the shower. Glad it was only for one night therefore. Room itself was smart and comfortable, but as stated small double.... More

We stay in this hotel for 2 nights instead of the 4 we had booked. On first appearance the hotel seemed very good. We did not have a good room, perhaps others were better. The room was nice and big with a sofa. The bathroom was also a good size but there was nowhere to put toiletries, no shelves at... More

We arrived in Grasmere on a spur of the moment visit not having booked anything. We asked in reception as to the availability of a room for the night and were offered a choice of different rooms, all with a good discount on the usual price. The gent in reception offered to show us a couple of rooms but we... More

We stayed for 3 nights and the hotel is in a great location in the centre of Grasmere village. The staff are really nice especially Craig who was very polite and attentive. The breakfasts are very good with a good choice of cooked options. We ate in the restaurant for 1 night and then in Tweedies Bar for 1 night.... More

My wife and I booked a three night break about six months ago. We booked this hotel because it is dog friendly and we could eat with our dog in Tweedies Bar. We always book a twin room because our experience of double beds is that they are usually narrow. We like our comfort. The room we were given, for... More

Just awful. Family who own it are rude, arrogant, unhelpful and are really in the wrong business. Service is abysmal, customer service even worst and accommodation in the mews tiny. Best room to book, NONE.

Dear Sir, What took you so long to write your review ? I remember you very well. You were the gentleman who was very rude and aggressive towards one of my staff who happened to be 8 months pregnant, who very politely pointed out to you that she was not working when you were shouting to be served in a...
