Our twin room was small but adequate. The bathroom had already been used before we arrived and was not clean. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing - only toast and cereal were available before 8am - not good if heading out to the hills early - our charity walk started at 7.30am. £60 per person per night - not great... We have visited the Lakes many times but we have always wanted to stay in Grasmere. We believe it is what Disney would have created if asked to produce a perfect English village. So we made a plan and chose the Raise View House to stay and could NOT be happier that we did. First of all John was so... More

This is a very very nice B&B but not really set up for C2C walkers. When we arrived (at the usual time for folks doing the walk), no one was around nor was there any note. We found an open door on the garage so that we didn't have to carry them back into town. The town is wonderful and... More

This is described as an 'elegant B and B' and it certainly lives up to its name. The honesty bar in the delightfully cosy residents lounge was a real bonus. John and Karen were full of information about where to eat (both recommendations were excellent), what to do and where to walk. It all made for an excellent weekend.

We were made most welcome by Karen and John at this most charming B&B. Our room was tastefully decorated and we had three good night's sleep. Breakfast was a tasty highlight, and we made good use of the honour bar in the evening We really appreciated being able to leave our car in the evenings and walk into Grasmere to... More

Karen and John were charming hosts. Very comfortable beds with fabulous views. Modern shower rather weak flow but adequate. Nice cozy lounge with honesty bar. The house was warm and clean. Generous, tasty well cooked, non greasy breakfast, in a pleasant dining room. Near restaurants and good position for touring. Really enjoyed our stay.

Definitely one of the nicest B & Bs I've ever stayed in. Really warm and friendly owners, everywhere beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Fantastic breakfast which I couldn't fault. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

John and Karen were so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Well appointed rooms, both with super views. A lovely breakfast, with a wide choice of things to eat. We expect to be back!

As a lot of others we are repeat guests to Raise View and it is all down to John and Karen being such great hosts, its more like meeting up with good friends than owners of a B&B. We even stay in the same room (Helm Crag) which has great views of the hills, each year we say we wish... More
