we enjoyed staying here so much! this guest house is very pleasant. the room was very spacious, lots of light, very clean and very cosy.we had a bathroom all to ourselves down the hall, which was very clean and comfortable. there was a lounge for the use of the guests, with sofas and armchairs and coffee tables and soft ,lights,... We spent two nights at the Banerigg Guest House in a large, comfortable room. The location was wonderful for walking into Grasmere even though we are not hikers. The breakfast was very good and the wi-fi worked in the room. There is a guest lounge which we appreciated since there was only one very soft and uncomfortable chair in our... More

Returned to the Lakes and Banerigg. This is such a good B&B: warm welcome, great and I mean really great breakfast. Lashings of hot water and high pressure taps/showers just what you need after a hard day on the fells. Comfy beds and clean rooms. Angela and Martin are great hosts who dispense warmth and good advice on places to... More

Enjoyed a 2 night stay at Banerigg as a base for an organised walk of the Roman Road from Brougham Castle near Penrith to nearby Ambleside, from where the group was picked up and bussed to the start. Banerigg is a large lakeside stone house and very much a traditional, comfortable B&B in a very good location on the main road... More

Angela and Martin were very friendly, especially when engaging in conversations about walks and wild swimming, which Martin clearly enjoys and is very knowledgeable about, and gave us some excellent advice. The location was fantastic, partly for the view from the bedroom window, but mostly because it is ideally situated to start lots of walks from. Grasmere village is only... More

Martin and Angela once again made us feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble! The breakfasts are outstanding - you have to try their sausages and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The views from the bedroom out over the lake were spectacular. The only thing that bettered previous stays was the glorious weather. Looking forward to going back... More

Once again Angela and Martin have shown themselves to be outstanding hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The house was warm, clean and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding, with loads of fruit, and interesting toast accompanied by homemade jam and marmalade, as well as the full English. The views of the lake from the front bedroom were as beautiful... More

We chose this b&b for its waterfront location and we were not disappointed. Angela & Martin are lovely hosts with extensive knowledge about the surrounding area and great suggestions for things to do. The rooms are fairly basic and small but clean and comfortable and we were very happy with our view. Would highly recommend this lovely b&b!

Superb hospitality from Angela and Martin. Nothing was too much trouble. We 5 cyclists stayed here for one night for local bike event. Comfortable twin and single rooms, great breakfast, excellent location. Can't praise Angela enough for her helpfulness and hospitality extended to us - that was the clincher. Well done!

Stayed in the front room. Passing traffic was intrusive till late evening when it quietened. Owners were pleasant but room was small and fairly basic. Breakfast satisfactory. Great views from the window overlooking Grasmere.
