We recently stayed here for our first anniversary after reading the reviews on trip advisor. We had a lovely stay. The owners were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The amount of tips and advice on offer was immense meaning we ate the best food and did the best walks too! Breakfast was so substantial, fresh fruit, cereal,... more

We have stayed with Angela and Martin at Benerigg several times over the years and it is, quite simply, wonderful. As other reviewers have said, the breakfasts are vast and delicious, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the views across the lake are magnificent. It is well situated as a base for exploring the Lakes or for fell-walking, which... more

This place was wonderful. Angela could not have been more friendly and helpful both when booking, asking for recommendations to book dinner and during our stay. The location is beautiful. Right by the lake. Grasmere is a beautiful lake. You can meet a lovely walk around it to town, just left out of the front door. Greens cafe and bistro... more

We stayed for two nights with Martin & Angela, they are genuinley nice people who are always happy to help and advise. There is a small issue with road noise in the early evening, but that is outweighed by the care of the owners and the excellent cooked breakfast using quality ingredients. We would have no hesitation in returning more

My boyfriend and i stayed at Banerigg for the May bank holiday. Angela and Martin were just lovely from the moment we arrived and couldn't do enough to help. Banerigg is just outside of the main village on the edge of the lake, but is within easy walking distance. We had a room overlooking Grasmere, what a view to wake... more

Awakening to mist rising over the lake, walking the Ambleside road to the sound of bleating sheep, sipping tea in the lounge at night; these are the things I long for each time I leave Banerigg House and return to America. There is simply nothing like this place and there are no finer hosts than Martin and Angela Clark. This... more

My partner and I set off for a quick get away to the Lakes and stayed at the Banerigg Guest House after reading some of the reviews. It’s hard to think of anything new about this place that has not already been said. What I can tell you though, is that the Banerigg Guest House made our one night stay... more

Its tempting not to write a review on Banerigg, as to say what I really feel could potentially make it more difficult to book there in future! Over the Christmas period I underwent some quite major surgery, and having felt better towards the New Year my partner and I discussed getting away from it all for a few days to... more

Banerigg Guest House is located a few metres away from the shores of Grasmere Lake, so naturally the location is superb. A walk around the lake takes only an hour or so and its isolation made it even more attractive. The centre of Grasmere is 10 min walk away. The hosts of Banerigg were very accommodating, polite and helpful, and... more

We still find it hard to believe what good fortune we had to find Bererigg House. We thought late in the year there would be plenty of guest houses to chose from so we did not invest too much time in pre-planning. Little did we realize it is NOT late in the year and the properies were booked. We traveled... more
