We have just returned from a two-night stay at the hotel and it was wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are first-rate. I'd go again and I'd recommend it to anyone. We are well-travelled and quite fussy and there was nothing to fault this hotel at all. I'd say the staff deserve a huge pat on the back... More

I recently stayed here for a wedding. Lovely grounds and very comfortable rooms. Staff are very attentive. I have to say that I felt the rooms were overpriced and I think the fact that you only got one sausage (the full English) for breakfast was so disappointing especially for my husband. I asked for a portion of mushrooms and received... More

Just stayed for a two day break The hotel is centrally situated on the side of the river in Grasmere. Service is excellent. Dinner in the restaurant is very ' fancy ', the Bistro a much more 'normal' menu. The Chef is very artistic. We enjoyed both our meals. Accomodation very comfortable and clean, plenty varied lounge areas with lovely garden... More

We got married at this wonderful place yesterday! It was the Greatest Day of our lifes! The staff were fantastic, especially our wedding planner Catalin. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect. They excelled my expectations. So much thought and detail was put in to every single part! Words can not do it justice! Truly wonderful xxxx

Usually stay in Ambleside for weekend breaks but decided to try this hotel from good reviews on here and the pictures on their own web site. Will definitely return as it exceeded our expectations. It was quite opulent in the mountain view room with beautiful fittings and a very comfortable bed. We were upgraded having booked a village view and... More

We came across this hotel after a very bad experience in Bowness... and the best thing we did, was to say yes to a totally off the cuff stay. We had been intending to travel home within the next couple of hours, and then we stumbled on Wordsworth!!! Thank you to the lady who gave us such a good deal... More

Stayed with a group of 40 - mainly senior citizens - on 16-20 May 2012. Perfect service, "olde world charm" hotel, beautiful garden, very quiet, also the front rooms. Main asset, however, is the Signature Restaurant. Never had a hotel with such quality food, choice of dishes & service for groups before. The notion of England's less favourable reputation for... stayed for one night on 21/5/12. Everything about this place is more than the 4 star rating it has got. The friendly service and relaxing atmosphere is fantastic. Stayed in a double courtyard room which was tastefully decorated and very clean. Beautiful gardens surround this hotel and we sat watching rabbits on the lawn while enjoying a drink in the... More

Just returned from a weekend at this Hotel where we attended a Wedding. The Hotel was a typical Lakeland Hotel set in the most beautiful Gardens. Rooms were really pretty with beautiful En Suite facility. The wedding was simply stunning, fantastic food and the staff were excellent, for such an important occasion it was everything you would dream of. I... More
