Just a short note to say we recently stayed at the Wordsworth Hotel and was thoroughly satisfied with our short stay. Upgraded upon arrival, it was quiet and sunny and very relaxing, we did look at other hotels in the area but this one offered a more complete experience. Only one point to raise is that coming out of the... More

I thought I'd booked another Hotel in Grasmere where we had previously stayed ( more pricey), but I must say the Wordsworth was really good. The food was excellent, dinner & breakfast, the room was small but okay, I am sure other rooms are better but the package booked was for a standard room. Great spot right in the centre... More

Me and hubby stayed for one night mid week break, Staff very helpful and polite, rooms clean and nicely furnished although extremely warm. Restaurant run very well food was exceptional breakfast cooked to order. The grounds are a perfect view whilst chilling in the whirlpool - will stay again.

We stayed here for 2 nights with a KGB voucher. The voucher stated we were to get a classic standard room but we were pleasantly surprised to be put in one of the larger village view rooms. The room itself was large with a huge bed and a good sized modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. The room was at... More

We booked a two night stay through Groupon and when we arrived at around mid-day we were allowed in our room. The room was nice but nothing exceptional. As part of the deal we ate in the restaurant on the first evening and we had to complain about the steak as it could have been used to repair shoes. We... More

Stayed for one night in a Mountain and Garden view room on DBB basis. It was on a special deal as we had stayed there before and was great value as the bedroom was excellent overlooking the lovely garden with the mountains in the background. Dinner was fantastic and breakfast substantial. The staff were very polite and always helpful. If... More

I first came here in 1991 when I was a student, invited to a three-day mini-workshop meeting held at the Wordsworth with 10 academics and 10 students all presenting their research, I thought this was a really lovely hotel back then: beautiful building & grounds; nice pool/jacuzzi; and I had great memories of the excellent food. 22 years later, I'm... We walked past the Wordsworth in December whilst staying at the soul-less Daffodil hotel and said how lovely it looked. We were delighted to get a KGB deal to stay here and it is just what a Lake District hotel should be. We had a standard room - although small it was exceptionally clean and the bed and pillows were... More

After having recently stayed at the Miller Howe with KGB, and being most dissapointed, we had already booked with them to go to the Wordsworth, we were expecting more of the same, but frankly it was in a different league. Very clean and well presented throughout. The food was very good and the service impeccable. Two very minor gripes at... More

What a gem! Right in the centre of the pretty village of Grasmere, the Wordsworth looks so inviting and full of charm. I took my husband on a surprise break for his 65th birthday and we stayed in a standard room on a KGB deal. Excellent service from staff that were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble from...
