Very clean and smart rooms with tea making facilities and lovely toiletries. Room 9 has amazing views to the back. Wonderful cooked breakfast and choice of cereals. Presentation was excellent. Great host. Short walk to Grasmere village, which has cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. Recommended!

The location is on the outskirts of the town centre but the accommodation is superb. The owner is very helpful and runs a lovely place. The rooms are of a high standard and breakfast is very good. You get 15% off at the pub down the road if you stay at Chestnut Villa. Definitely somewhere to look out for if... More

We spent 1 night here on our C2C route. All what was necessary for tired men were provided: warm shower, quiet room and nice bed. Breakfast on the next morning was very good. Thanks to Mike and his family and good luck in their business!

We had been booked into Chestnut Villa by a company who arranged our Coast to Coast walk. The house is on the main A591 away from the village. We arrived at the semi-detached house to book in only to be told that we were in the house next door which was apparently owned by a member of the family and... More

I'd chosen Chestnut Villa on the strength of the great-looking website, which also mentioned laundry service. Mike the owner was really helpful and friendly. He said they only did laundry for people staying 2 nights but would make an exception for us. His mum wasn't that enthusiastic about doing it when I did take it down to her as instructed.... More

Booked here by Macs as part of a C2C package. Apparently one of the few spots in Grasmere that caters for guests staying one night only. Well positioned on the edge of town for the next days hike, just turn left walk about 300 metres on the footpath beside the a road turn R and you are on your way... More

This was a very nice stop in Grasmere on the C2C walk. Very nice room and bathroom. The owner is most helpful, and they were even flexible in serving an earlier breakfast since we had a very long day the next day of walking. There is really only just one flaw, the owner is a Nadal fan...

One of the best B&B's we've stayed in. Mike made us very welcome. The view from our room (Rm1) was lovley. Mike did warn us that traffic noise might be a problem, but actualy we didn't notice it at all. The bed and importantly the pillows were comfortable. so we slept well. Everything was clean and tidy The Breakfast was... More

Chestnut Villa was easy to find, and is a welcoming B & B. The room was clean, plenty of hot water, a really comfortable bed, lovely breakfast and great views. We had a really relaxing couple of nights here. Grasmere is a great place to explore The Lakes from, with plenty of small restaurants and shops to wander around.

It's difficult to add to previous comments. This place is good - and comfortable. Nice comprehensive breakfasts and comfortable beds. Curtains do let in light - this could be a problem. The wifi in our room was strong and fast. No road noise ( we faced the back ). Stayed while doing the C2C walk. Note that they do now... More
