We stayed just for one night, and we had a great time. The room was lovely, modern and very clean, also the bed was really comfy!! They offer a reception room you can use we didn't but again it was very nice. The decor was modern and crisp throughout, a lot of thought has gone into the place. You got... More

Had a lovely couple nights here, very welcoming and comfortable beds. Food just right. We will stay here again definitely. Gras-mere village a nice walk down and the shopping here is a bonus. Swan Hotel is nearby where you will be welcomed too.

Stayed for one night while doing the coast to coast - wish it had been longer and will definitely be coming back! Owner was so helpful and even washed and dried our clothes after we fell in a bog on that day's walk. He took the time to chat with us and was so friendly and accommodating. I had a... More

This property was actually our second choice for Grasmere but proved to one of the better B&Bs we stayed in along the C2C trail. It is slightly out of town but the welcome and quality of the rooms more than make up for the extra 10 minutes walk. And you are right on the trail for the following day’s trek.... More

We stayed at Chestnut Villa for the first time this year at around Easter, after booking a B/B nearby and then being cancelled the day before the holiday. This was the best thing the other B/B could have done for us. All packed and no where to go, We rang Mike and he found us a room, and after 5... More

If you want a warm welcome in the stunning setting of grasmere in the heart of the Lake District I would definitely recommend a stay at chestnut villa. The welcome was warm, the rooms are all tastefully furnished and the breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. All the staff were so friendly and relaxed and made us feel thoroughly... More

We stayed in this B&B while on the Coast to Coast walk and found it very comfortable and the host particularly helpful. He even offered to do our washing. Only a short walk from the heart of Grasmere.

We have recently returned from the lakes and managed a one night stay at this great little B&B. It was a last minute booking, because we decided to stay over due to the good weather, and we were overjoyed to be given a small but good twin room at the rear of the house. The views were great and we... More

We stayed for a one night last minute stopover between Scotland and the Midlands (home) and were very pleased with the accommodation. Clean and bright rooms with a comfortable modern feel. The welcome was warm and friendly and food was excellent. The choice of breakfast menu was outstanding and the staff were friendly, smartly dressed and accommodating. The en suite... More

Our fourth stop on our coast to coast walk took us to this slightly disappointing stop where the welcome was a little lacking and the rooms cramped. The shower room was so small that the basin had had to be placed in the bedroom. That said the room was well equipped and the bed comfortable. We did make brief use... More
