Just returned from a mid week break in Coniston, two nights at the Crown Inn and wish it could have been longer. Truly pet friendly so would definitely come back! Great Ales and some of the best food in the area. Room was on the small side but very comfortable, clean and ok for a couple of nights.

We have just returned from Coniston having spent three nights at the crown Inn and I have to say that the hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very warm and friendly. The food was definitely the best in Coniston beautifully cooked and presented. Unlike some Dog Friendly hotels this one very definitely was as to be... More

Just had 2 nights at the crown, had booked a place in Hawkeshead, but found this to be unavailable on arrival, so had to find something last minute. Arrived at the Crown, greeted very pleasantly at the desk, and were offered to see the room available, always a good sign. the room as expected was lovely, nice and clean, was... More

We stayed at The Crown from Friday 28th February to Sunday 2nd March 2014. This was our 4th stay here and it didn't disappoint. We arrived at 12.30 and were able to get straight into our room. We had room 3 which had 3 single beds in, loads of room! It was spotless, tastefully decorated with a welcome tea and... More

Arrived late Friday evening to a very busy establishment for the first member of staff to drop what they were doing and gave us a very warm and friendly check-in, they even kept the kitchen open late for us for a party of seven and served a wonderful curry at a reasonable price. Stayed the weekend and ate here both... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, and I can definitely say that I can not find any fault. When you check in, you get such a warm welcome, and are made to feel like they really appreciate your custom. The local beer served was in excellent condition, they obviously know what they are doing. The breakfasts were... More

On the look out for a dog friendly pub, whilst on a visit to Coniston, we came across the Crown Inn and were pleasantly surprised. At first we just wanted a drink, but after seeing some food come out of the kitchen we decided to order a light lunch, and it was lovely. The portion sizes were huge so we... More

We stay in Coniston on a regular basis .It is fair to say the quality of the food at most of the Pubs fluctuates. The Bull is always good, but for some time now the Crown is probably the best. We could tell that in the last couple of years the food, while being pub style, is imaginative and definitely home... More
