Browside is a lovely B&B just outside of Coniston, with beautiful views over the fields. It was lovely to watch the chickens and sheep while having breakfast. The rooms are spotless, modern and spacious. We particularly enjoyed taking the short walk down to the lake and the various other walks, the power showers are fab after getting back from a... more

Our first stay in the lakes, but certainly not our last at Browside B & B. The room was lovely with two large windows letting in all the light and offering lovely views towards the lake. The sheep grazed right below our window making us feel at one with nature. The super king size bed was very comfortable and the... more

We have stayed at a few B&B's in the Lakes and have now found the best place to enjoy a holiday. The breakfast's were gorgeous, the accommodation second to none and Helen is a lovely hostess. Browside is the perfect base to explore the Lakes. The views from the house are breathtaking and we will staying again next year. We... more

We booked our visit after reading other reviews on Tripadvisor, and would wholeheartedly agree with previous positive comments. We booked quite late (just a week in advance) for our three-night stay and therefore had to change rooms - we spent our first night in room 2, and our second and third nights in room 3. Both were lovely - extremely... more

We loved our two nights at Browside and would definitely stay there again. Helen was warm and friendly, and a fabulous cook - the breakfast was one of the best we had during our UK trip, and the eggs were from their own hens. We could see the sheep and chooks from our room, and just a glimpse of Coniston... more

Review for summer 2006. Stayed here for a couple of nights on the way up to Wordsworth country. The pictures the other reviewers have given are similar to the ones I was going to upload and depict the accomodation well. (Also see their own website - [--].). The rooms are in an extension of the main house, and each has... more

We've just completed our week long holiday at Browside. We stayed here for a week a couple of years ago and when we decided to visit the Coniston area again we didn't hesitate to come back. We've just stayed in the the Lake View room which has a view down to Coniston Water and the sheep field next door. You... more

My husband and I recently spent seven weeks driving around England and Scotland, staying mainly at farmhouse B&B's. We used the "Farmstay U.K." guide and the "Little Green Book" guide. Our price category was 25-32 GBP, pppn, and our accomodations ranged from 14th Century barn conversions to modern bungalows. True, some rooms were smallish, some rooms two flights up, but... more

We spent 3 weeks driving around England in April 2006, staying at Bed & Breakfasts identified initially through “The Little Green Book” (see www.bedandbreakfastnationwide.com), followed by various websites. We aimed for about £25 - £30 per night, with ensuite. By and large, they were all fine, though some were really good, and for these I have provided comments in Trip... more
