We have recently stayed here for one night and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation near Coniston. Our room was lovely and spacious with fabulous views overlooking fields, hills and across to the lake - not forgetting the sheep and chickens that were roaming in the field just outside our bedroom window. The bed was extremely comfy... More

We stayed for two nights in August and can thoroughly recommend the b&b. Our room was lovely with a great ensuite and the house itself was lovely. Breakfast was also great and nothing was too much trouble for the lovely owner, Helen. The views from the room and where we ate breakfast were great. We has such a lovely stay.... More

Browside is simply brilliant. The best nights sleep i've had in ages, no traffic, total silence … perfect. A stunning location, offering excellent views from my rooms own patio via a french door. Browside is more like a holiday let rather than a b and b. I've stayed in lots of guest houses in the lakes but haven't been met... More

Myself and my husband stayed for one night prior to an event in Coniston. We were in room 4 which was at the back looking straight out on to sheep and up the hill. It is a beautiful room with a lovely en suite that has a bath with shower over. Not a speck of dirt to be seen anywhere.... More

Just back from 3 night stay while I was taking part in the Lakeland 50 mile challenge and wife was marshalling. Race was based in Coniston and Browside is just a few mins drive away. Lovely room, with great views. Breakfast served in a room with more scenic views, was very nice and Helen made us some delicious porridge to... More

Great place and ideal first stop if you are walking the Cumbria Way. You can catch the bus to Ulverston immediately outside. Rooms are spotless and have everything you need. Ours had a private balcony. The breakfast is really good with fresh, free range eggs from hens you can see wandering in the field outside your room.

Thank you for the review its nice to hear you enjoyed your stop over while doing the first day of the Cumbrian way it was a very good idea of yours to leave your car use the x12 bus to Ulverston then walk back to Browside and stay the night, Regards Helen More

Woodland view, beautiful room, clean, quality towels and toiletries. Nice seating area for evening sunshine. Stayed with friends to compete in marathon fell race, Helen the owner was very friendly and accommodating. allowing our wife's to delay breakfast allowing them to see the start of the race. Highly recommend this guest house as a place to stay

We stayed last year. The room I had was super comfortable with outside sitting area. Views at breakfast time down the valley were very beautiful and green. Breakfast was cooked nicely and Helen the owner is cheerful and helpful. Looking for a B&B in the Coniston area? Look no further

We drove into a crowded Coniston on Easter Saturday right out of a traffic jam. We tend to like to stay away from the hustle and bustle and so, when we arrived at the Browside Guest House, it was with a great sigh of relief. Less than 2 miles from Coniston, but a peaceful rural world away, it was the... More
