After a huge drive from Kent, leaving at 5 in the morning and getting a bit lost trying to find the place it was nice to be welcomed into the B and B even though we were very early. We were given a quick tour of the building and left to our own devices which was great as the people... more

Excellent B+B. Fast booking correspondance. Lovely double room with en-suite, good size. Cozy farmhouse feel to the room. Spacious guest lounge. Spectacular views of Lake Coniston and shortish walk to Coniston village. Excllent price, well worth every penny. Would DEFINITELY recommend it. more

Wonderful to find this guesthouse farm with cottages in the Lake District. Great warm cottages with everything you need. The little details that count. Great base to explore from with Ambleside, Coniston, Hawkshead, Windermere all a short drive away. A place you would love to keep secret for yourself. more

We booked Bank Ground Farm mainly based on recommendations on TripAdvisor. We certainly weren't disappointed; the location and views are outstanding. Ideal for a relaxing break. Our room was tastefully decorated although a little on the small side but what fabulous views once again! Breakfast was fine, standard Lakeland type and the hospitality second to none. The only slight thing... more

We really enjoyed our stay here. I must admit I booked it for its location and the views are charming. However, if you are an Arthur Ransome fan then this place is a must as it was from here that he gleaned inspiration for the children's novels. The owners are great hosts and the lounge and terrace make for a comfortable... more

Me and my boyfriend discovered this place by accident when taking a trip round the lakes and I am so pleased that we found it!! After a couple of nights in various B&B's around the lakes I can honestly say that this place is so amazing and the views are fantastic!! Located down a country lane, the drive sweeps down... more

My partner and I were introduced to Bank Ground Farm by my sister and her husband to be. We arrived at night so though we could see that the accomodation was full of old world charm and that rooms were well furnished with a really huge comfortable bed (this may vary of course as some rooms are twin), the real... more

We enjoyed our 2 week stay in this lovely self-contained cottage which has superb views overlooking Lake Coniston & Coniston Old Man. The grassed area leads directly to the waters edge - idea for boats owners. This accommodation is ideal for 2 adults & 2 children - compact but perfectly adequate. On the same site there are larger units available... more

Booked a while ago for the bank holiday weekend. Didn't really know what to expect as the website photos looked great and have been fooled in the past! However we were pleasantly surprised, we stayed in "Wynmoor" and had great views of the lake. A calf had been born the day we arrived and we were able to stroke it... more

Walking the roads around this place feels straight out of the Steeleye Span song of this name. We are spending Christmas here in warm and cosy self catering accommodation. From the lounge room we can look over the Coniston Water and watch the mist swirl around the mountain opposite. In addition to the B&B there are a number of well... more
