I have an autistic son and we stayed recently for one night for a 'dad and lad' break. Despite my son's challenging behaviour they could not have been more helpful and friendly. Food and beer were both of a very good standard and the service exceptional. Thank you.

Only stayed 1 night as we had The Gondola booked on Lake Coniston the next day. Wish we had stayed for two. Our room was at the top number 8. What a view!!! Not a big room but ample for what we needed. Tea n coffee, hairdryer and tv. Lovely shower room. Bed very comfy too. very clean. We also... More

Stayed for two nights as attending a wedding. First the rooms....simple, clean and a good size. This markets itself as a classic b & b not a boutique hotel so fine by me. The location is perfect! Minutes away from all local amenities including shops and free cash machines. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Friendly, helpful,... More

Hotel in great position. Bar area very nice. The rooms - oh dear! Mismatched antiquated furniture with coffee rings. Wash basin in room and nowhere to put towels. Plastic cups to hold toothbrushes. And the bathroom! 70s style comes to mind! Sorry but couldn't use that shower! Café for breakfast- no cloths, cutlery, condiments. All get yourself! I understand this hotel is... More

We stayed in this hotel 27th May for 3 nights, the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, We stayed in room 9, it was lovely and clean, the shower hasn't got much pressure but then we were on the top floor. The bar is nice and drinks and food are reasonable. Breakfast is served in the cafe,... More

Used as stop over between legs of Cumbria Way Walk. Central in Consiton, easy to find. Restuarant did standard bar food. Very helpful staff - we'd booked in a different name to the one our luggage arrived in from the Sherpa's and they'd spent the day making sure they didn't have a double booking and had tried to find an... I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, great location, nice room, good breakfast and the manager really went out of his way to sort us out when travel arrangements to the wedding we were due attend fell through. I would highly recommend.

Had a lovely time staying at this hotel over the Easter weekend. The staff and owner were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were not huge but nicely decorated and very clean. Food in the pub/restaurant was great. Fish, chips and peas after a days walking went down very well and the breakfast was excellent. Location wise it's perfect... More

We called in when passing through the area for lunch. Food and beer were good - I has a lovely black pud salad. Staff were very friendly and helpful, apologising for the delay in service due to a large party of school girls in the café, although the delay was not that long!. The dog loved lying in front of... Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was lovely and fresh. Small ensuite shower room quite adequate and nicely fitted with modern suite. I would recommend this hotel and the host was a lovely gentleman who was most helpful. There a small car parking area at the side of the property. The bar and restaurant are very popular as well and... More
