My family of 4 stayed in the Garden Room, there was everything you needed, views from the patio area were beautiful. It is the perfect location to explore the Lake District. Very impressive breakfast, would definitely reccomend.

Apart from the title the rooms were also good, clean, warm and cosy. Lovely views over countryside. Extra touches in the rooms like sherry, cakes, mini bar etc. pot of tea in the lounge on arrival was very welcome. Did not have an evening meal here so cannot comment on that but the breakfast was lovely and so nice to... More

We recommend this establishment to anyone who likes straightforward food prepared and cooked to perfection. The property is clean and well maintained, the staff efficient and helpful. Mrs Sealy the friendly but unobtrusive owner and cook ,clearly works hard to make her guests stay a relaxing pleasure. We will be back!

We recently stayed at the Old Rectory and would have no hesitation in recommending it to other travellers, We booked dinner in advance and the menu choice was adapted with no problem to meet our needs. The breakfast was lovely and the rooms were very comfortable with nice touches such as fresh milk in the mini bar, home made cakes... More

I can recommend the Old Rectory with no hesitation. My wife and I stayed there for two nights, and had it not been for our flight leaving next day, we would have enjoyed a longer stay. The room was clean and welcoming, the bed very comfortable, a mini bar with a good selection of drinks, a coffee maker and the... More

Very welcoming. Met with tea in sitting-room with home baking. Further home-baking in our room. Superb views from the dining room. Dinner menu looked excellent, but must be pre-booked. Will certainly stay here again.

Our stay at The Old Rectory was ideal. We made a very last minute booking and arrived at an awkward time but everything was taken care of. Our room was very nice, comfortable beds and strong hot showers. The home made flap jack with the coffee's and tea was very tasty and a nice touch. There was plenty of breakfast... More

The Old Rectory has a warm and welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful setting overlooking rolling green hills and only two miles from Coniston. We stayed 3 nights here to explore the Lakes area. On arrival, we were greeted by the host and offered a choice of two bright, airy and delightfully furnished rooms. We chose "Potter", the smaller room, as... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. The room was delightful, with double aspect, if somewhat pink. Although it is a B & B, it is possible to have an evening meal, if you are prepared to accept the main course. There is, however, a small selection for starter and dessert. We found the meals were very good,... More
