We enjoyed our stay at the Travelodge in Cockermouth. It is basic but that is what one pays for. The café thingo was convenient for a late bite to eat with the kids; it wasn't fantastic, but I didn't expect it to be. There was something unmentionable on the floor on the floor of the toilet in reception, but I... More

Stayed here for a night on the way home and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was, the staff were very helpful especially Paul who could not have done more to make our stay welcoming and comfortable.

We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the area which would accept dogs and we found it here. The room was not the height of luxury but was more than adequate for an overnight stay, and both the room and the bathroom were spotless. The shower was hot and sufficiently powerful. Staff were friendly and professional and the... More

Stayed here two nights. The room was comfortable and clean if a little spartan. A settee or an armchair would have been an improvement. Wifi is £10 for 24 hours which is a little steep. Isn't it time to bundle wifi in the basic price. This Travelodge had a cafe which is handy. Evening meal was basic - I suspect... More

We stayed as a family group on 21 March 2014, and had 6 rooms booked. On the morning of 22 March, we had no hot water to wash or take showers, on complaint to reception they did not seem to care, also guest from other rooms were also complaining of same situation. No apology or solution offered by staff.

No reception staff on arrival. Room very sparse, no wardrobe, hairdryer or comfortable chair. Towels not changed from first night. Basic & not so cheap. Would choose Premier Inn over Travelodge every time!

A fabulous base en-route to our nephew's wedding and we had the family with us so 9 people in all. It was perfectly situated for our family in Cockermouth and Lorton where the wedding took place. Food, accommodation and service were all exceptional and the breakfast filled us up till we sat down to eat in the afternoon. The bacon... More

Friendly staff, Immaculate housekeeping. Good inexpensive food. Best ice cream I have tasted. Our stay could not have been more relaxed, thanks to the friendly, diligent staff. Our best Travelodge experience

We received a very warm welcome on arrival. Room was very clean with plenty of towels and pillows. Unlike other Travelodges we have stayed at recently, Cockermouth hasn't undergone a refurbishment recently. The pillows are not well filled and the bed is beyond its useful life. Having criticised the pillows and bed, we still enjoyed our stay. There was no... More

Once getting there and wanting to leave the car in the hotel car park for a couple of days, nothing could be easier! You can stroll down into town in ten minutes to catch a handy regular bus to Keswick and you'll be there in 30 minutes ...and coming back? The local friendly taxi service from the main street in...
