As a cheap hotel it was fine. Certainly in need of some TLC and a strange damp smell as well as a poorly cleaned bathroom, but if you book a Travelodge it's never going to be as good as some other brands. The biggest issue is the food on site, so when you arrive late on a Saturday and everywhere... More

Exactly what you'd expect from a Travelodge - basic, clean, acceptable accommodation. The bed was bigger than in most budget/average hotels, and the mattress was firm and comfortable. The duvet was thin and accompanied by oddly large pillows. I stayed in a fairly furniture-free room, which came with an average but clean bathroom, complimentary toiletries that smelled a bit like... Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant, clean and comfortable. Good views of the landscape and close to the centre of Cockermouth. Close to most of the touristy places. Staff welcoming. Would recommend.

Visited the travel lodge whilst travelling to Cumbria for a friends wedding. Very well priced and well located. All staff were friendly and polite throughout our stay. Room was clean and spacious, only problem were the light switches which could be quite temperamental and not work when other lights were on. We opted for the continental breakfast (which was nice)... I knew I would get a clean comfortable bedroom with en suite which is what I needed. I thought the staff at this Travelodge were extremely welcoming as well as efficient. It was just what I expected and I had no complaints.

Stayed in the travelodge in cockermouth for 3 nights with our 6 month old son. Family room provided plenty of space for the 3 of us. Staff we pleasent, down to earth and helpful. We ate from the bar/restaurant a few times and although expensive the food was good. The location provided an ideal base to explore Keswick, Ambleside and... More

I held a Business Meeting at the Travelodge as was meeting an employer from the local area. I was greeted by Tony (I think), the Manager at the front desk. I've been to a couple of Travelodge's around the UK and can honestly say I never been made so welcome. Extremely polite and completely professional - a real credit to... More

I have used travelodges since they first opened but in that time the accommodation has become much worse. This particular travelodge is not very old, so it does not suffer from signs of overuse. But they have taken out the sofas (which I know were never very comfortable) and provided only one chair. So one of us had to sit... More

One night stop over on tour of Lakes. We had a family room for two adults which had a large double with two single units which could be pulled out from underneath and clipped together to form a second double, as we did. Bot beds perfectly comfy, clean room and bathroom. Easy check -in / out procedure...No Complaints!
