Came up from London for my nieces wedding. The relaxed atmosphere of your marvellous guest house complimented the wonderful informality of the wedding day. The staff, all young, are so genuinley pleasant they are all goldmines to have. The food served for dinner was soooo good and at last I have somewhere that I can leave totally sated, but not... more

Our friends had their wedding here, we had high expectations and we were not let down. Winder Hall is a lovely and ideallic place to stay. Nick and his staff were tip top and the hot tub...The food and service was excellent, The location is great, there is a nice pub in the village and its really close to Buttermere... more

Our second visit, not disappointed A hidden little gem, took advantage of the deal, didn't have dinner, as £39 each, but felt guilty for not having it, if anything a little pressurised but enjoyed the room and hotel, always good for relaxation and peace and quiet. Great breakfast and helpful staff Keep it up Nick ! see you next year more

I was worried that booking a venue that offered exclusive use for 2 nights was going to cost a fortune. However, I was plesantly surprised and it actually worked out cheaper than the other venue we had looked at. The reason was the day was specific to us - no minimum numbers, no set menus to chose from. Even though... more

We stayed to 'test out' this hotel for the first night of our honeymoon and have now booked it so really that says it all! We were welcomed with a quick tour and then tea and cake which we decided to take in our room. We stayed in Graystones, a four poster room overlooking the courtyard and the fells beyond.... more

Stayed for just one night here and would definitely go back. We were in Greystones which is a lovely big room with a georgian 4-poster and a huge bathroom. We ate dinner there which was lovely and there were beautiful views from our table of the sun setting on the hills. It is a very relaxed place so we sat... more

Beauiful Jacobean Manor House (middle part), the bedroom had a spectacular view overlooking kitchen garden and hills. Very expensive bathroom with slate shower enclosure but the rain shower more of a drizzle. Historic large dining room, oak panelled and floors. Beautifully presented tables and good service although erratic, we reserve judgement on the food and too expensive! although bacon and... more

My Wife and I have just returned from our second stay at Winder Hall and had an utterly fantastic time. I wanted to write one last year but didn't get round to it, so I thought I'd strike when the iron is still warm. Actually this a very difficult review to write as it's difficult not to heap praise on... more

We headed to the Lakes for a weekend away and found this place by chance, driving by. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. We were given complimentary tea, coffee and cakes whilst a room was made ready for us (we'd turned up early one morning). The room was lovely - four poster bed, fire... more
