Such a lovely place! The breakfasts were made to order and all arrived quickly and very well presented. The staff cannot do enough to please! It was a real pleasure staying here. The bedroom was large, spacious and very comfortable. The bedding was so comfortable I even went out and bought the same sheets from Dunelm the very same day... More

Hi all, stopped at this wonderful venue last weekend for a short birthday treat with my wife Liz and Diesel our small terrier. Although the weather was quite poor-even by Lake District standards! The warm welcome and fantastic room helped keep our spirits high! We had a very comfortable and undisturbed sleep on a great bed, even enjoyed a lovely... More

There is plenty of parking available and the room we stayed in was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was modern and the kitchen a bonus and had everything you would need. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. A 10 minute walk down the road will take you to a couple of pubs, The... More

Although the rooms are waiting for refurbishment which is imminent, they are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were warmly welcomed and the owner made a point of speaking personally to all guests at the end of breakfast which was a really nice touch. The breakfast was spot on, individual requests catered for and obviously high quality ingredients. Not an... More

I've stayed here a few times & have always enjoyed my stay. Julia & Scott always make you feel welcome & the breakfast is hearty & delicious. They are just on the outskirts of town but only a short walk to the town centre. A great place to stay - well done.

We went to Cockermouth for the first time to see friends and stayed at Rose Cottage for three nights. On arrival we were greeted by the landlady "Julia" who in my humble opinion is the best guest house owner that I have had the pleasure to stay with, the room was looking a bit tired and is currently being renovated... This guest house is conveniently located on the outskirts of Cockermouth. The hostess was very welcoming Bedroom was clean and tidy, is slightly dated - to be fair the owners have only taken over recently have a programme of upgrades planned over the winter months. Flat screen TV and free wifi in all rooms. Fried breakfast was excellent and they... More

My partner and I stayed for one night in the King Suite at the beginning of October 2015. The room has everything you need including a kitchenette and sofa. Towels and toiletries are provided. The bed is very comfortable and it was all very clean. It can get a bit chilly at night in October, but an electric radiator is... More
