good location close to town and very comfortable bed. Good breakfast and warm, enthusiastic welcome. Decor is tired but as a new venture for the new owners it has potential to be a gem. I'd certainly stay again.

May I on behalf of myself and my wife thank Julia and her husband for the wonderful welcome and hospitality shown on our recent stay last months. The bad was comfy and the breakfast superb. The room was a little cold but Julia supplied a heater. Bless her. And I hope to return in the near future.

Warmly welcomed, very clean, good size bedroom and en-suite. Very secure bike storage. Excellent breakfast. Convenient for a small walk to a very good local pub/restaurant. Would reccomend even though a short walk out of town.

Wonderful stay, beautifully clean and warm on a very cold december night. The breakfast was amazing and cooked to perfection. Ideal location on the edge of Cockermouth leading to the stunning Lorton valley and Whinlatter forest, yet within easy walking distance of the market town of Cockermouth with lots of amazing, one off shops. Would recommend to anyone wanting a... More

We stayed three nights at Rose Cottage B & B.Its in walking distance of Cockermouth (the Christmas lights in the Main Street were brilliant). The rooms although small was clean and warm. Full english breakfast was hot and filling. The hosts were helpful and friendly. This is perfect for a short break. Would recommend.

We ended up running really late, and didn't check in until 23:00. John waited up for us as we started to panic that we might have to sleep in the car with a two year old! John and Susan are lovely people, really obliging and have a beautiful house. We stayed in the Studio, which was fantastic. Peaceful, relaxing and... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here the last weekend in September and were greeted by a lovely couple and couldn't fault anything apart from a noisy couple above us!! Which can't be helped by the owners of the b&b! Would definitely stay again!:-)

We spent 2 nights here, using a Groupon Voucher, we would never have known about the place otherwise. Had a lovely greeting upon arrive from John and Rufus the dog. We had room 7 which was somewhat small but otherwise spotless and could not fault it or the ensuite apart from the size but as we were only sleeping there... More

We had a two night stay with our toddler and dog and we were all made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious and the room was very clean and comfortable. John and Sue offered cleaning products as our daughter had been sick on the way there and they very kindly let us use their fridge to store her milk.... More
