A very enjoyable stay as part of a work-arranged outing that felt more like leisure. Mick was a very friendly host, welcoming us in when we arrived a half hour early. I was coming down with a cold on the day we arrived but a nice hot shower, hearty dinner, pub quiz, comfortable bed and big breakfast saw me right.... More

A hidden gem, luxurious rooms, giant portions of delicious food, pampered and fussed over by mick. After a long day it's a perfect haven. Pummelled in a gloriously hot shower, sleep of the righteous in a heavenly bed and a feast for a meal. All done better cheaper tastier than a chain or budget hotel.

Spent new year here with our new pup, lovely hidden gem made to feel very welcome, beautiful hearty meals, modern rooms and a cosy feel to the place. I would definitely recommend a brilliant base not far from Cockermouth or Keswick will definitely be back.

Lunch here today - chosen from the mini menu which is smaller portions which is available every day. Good friendly service and good food. The landlord has an amazing collections of teapots everywhere in the bar. He told us that the cleaner had counted them once and there were over a thousand! Excellent value - 2 of us with 2... More

We spent a night in our motorhome in the car park as part of the brit stop deal. on arrival we were welcomed at the door and introduced. The evening meal was fantastic home cooked, value for money. The place was immaculate. The breakfast was as good as the evening meal. Mick (the owner) was extremely friendly and a real... More

Had a splendid visit and stay here. A true gem and so enjoyed our time here. Quite, relaxing, very modern, clean, well-kept and very accommodating. The bed & Breakfast is down a historic feeling old road - tucked nicely into the country side with a homey feeling to it. It offers a wonderful restaurant that is part of the inn.... More

We came to lake district for a week and stayed in a lovely place just outside Cockermouth. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere by Graham. After a few days we also met Mick. Loved his collection of over 400 teapots, and every breakfast was a different teapot used. Unfortunately we did not try their evening meals, which now i wished we... More

Although the food was nice tasting, hot and filling there was just something about the place itself! We were the only 4 people dining on a Thursday night, felt a very old fashioned place with no ambience about it. Think I would eat there again if passing but wouldn't make a special trip.

Myself and my Girlfriend decided on a short break to the lakes where we would be taking the dog, this was the initial factor when booking accommodation. On arriving the Inn we were met by Graham, the landlords friend, very friendly and helpful chap from Leeds. The room and bathroom were immaculate with easy access to outside, perfect for letting...
