Stayed for next night on Saturday 21st November. We arrived at 5.45pm and had to wait until 6pm to get in. Graham had said if we arrived before 6pm to let him know. Entered through the pub part which is a bit of a shock..it's literally full of tea pots! Graham took us through to our room on the ground... More

Mick looks after everyone who visits, ensuring that they are well fed and have everything that they need. The rooms are always clean and tidy. With great atmosphere in the pub. The food is first class and will certainly leave you full afterwards, even those with a big appetite.

Regularly stay with Mick and the team when on business, The food is still great - tasty, huge portions and reasonable prices. The rooms are still great, welcoming, great bathrooms, clean tidy and warm. But now, technology has arrived in that part of the world and Mick now has a great broadband connection. You can stream, you can Skype, you... More

Arrived early afternoon to a warm welcome from Mick the landlord - very helpful with local information. Our room was good and recently modernized - the bathroom in particular was spotless and spacious. After a couple of hours in Cockermouth we returned and a enjoyed a good pub meal. Mick's teapot collection - 1000 in all - is quite something... More

Saying on business and would defiantly come back. Made to feel at home by mick and his team. The food is traditional home cooked good food not from a microwave. The setting is nice and free WiFi with free parking.

Once again Mick and the team provide a great experience. Gorgeous, well appointed rooms, very clean and spacious. The food remains very reasonable and great value with the huge portions. The kitchen continue to pRoduce fantastic feasts and something off the wall is no problem. A 5am start usually means missing breakfast, but the cuisine gods made a continental breakfast... More

We booked on the Monday for the Thursday and Friday night stay. It was a real find, the room was fresh and clean with a new bathroom. The food was delicious and large portions. The landlord was helpful on places of interest nearby.

Great little place. nothing is too much trouble for the owner and staff. Meals are good, rather large portions and value for money I have stayed on business and for pleasure with my wife. Rooms are a good size and beds are comfortable

Just back from spending the weekend with a group of friends at the Old Posting House near Cockermouth. A warm welcome from the owner, Mick, a lovely guy for whom nothing was too much trouble. Hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms finished to a high standard especially the bathrooms. Really comfy king-sized beds with quality bedding, ensuring a great nights' sleep.... More
