Had a splendid visit and stay here. A true gem and so enjoyed our time here. Quite, relaxing, very modern, clean, well-kept and very accommodating. The bed & Breakfast is down a historic feeling old road - tucked nicely into the country side with a homey feeling to it. It offers a wonderful restaurant that is part of the inn.... More

We came to lake district for a week and stayed in a lovely place just outside Cockermouth. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere by Graham. After a few days we also met Mick. Loved his collection of over 400 teapots, and every breakfast was a different teapot used. Unfortunately we did not try their evening meals, which now i wished we... More

Although the food was nice tasting, hot and filling there was just something about the place itself! We were the only 4 people dining on a Thursday night, felt a very old fashioned place with no ambience about it. Think I would eat there again if passing but wouldn't make a special trip.

Myself and my Girlfriend decided on a short break to the lakes where we would be taking the dog, this was the initial factor when booking accommodation. On arriving the Inn we were met by Graham, the landlords friend, very friendly and helpful chap from Leeds. The room and bathroom were immaculate with easy access to outside, perfect for letting... On entering the pub I was taken aback with all the teapots definitely a talking point...the place feels like home and the food is superb.. The Cumberland sausage was so tasty while my husband had the chicken curry.. lots of it... Mike came to say hello which was really nice.. will definitely be back...

We were shown to a table with a Dirty tablecloth. The food was thrown at us with half going on the table. There was only enough vegetables for 2 not 4. We haven't enough to go round said the waiter. Asked for pouring cream for the dessert but they had run out. So tough! What a very disappointing night out.... More

Stayed for three days for both leisure and business. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were faultless and bathrooms modern and well designed. Good place to travel to lakes and coast. Food is well cooked but be warned the portion size is Cumbrian style so will overshadow many appetites. Staff all helpful and when my colleagues arrived they put themselves... More

Fantastic stay with colleagues. Mick made us so welcome. The rooms were faultless - comfy beds, lovely bathrooms, free wi-fi, plenty of space. Gorgeous freshly cooked breakfast - and lunch and evening meals were generous and delicious. The teapot collection made for interesting conversation! Really couldn't fault the place and would love to go back for a non-work stay.

We ate here on Saturday night the starter of garlic mushrooms tasted of water the mushrooms had not been sweated properly had to add loads of salt, the mixed grill was average apart from the steak which tasted peculiar I brought home to be checked by our chef who tasted it and said it was off and tasted rancid, it...
