At last somewhere that makes you feel special without the fuss and price of going to a hotel. Though small, the rooms are elegant and clean; this is a far cry from the chintz and intrusion of the regular B&B mentality. My wife and I have just spent 3 nights here. Great hosts lin and steve who were more than happy to make our stay most comfortable and enjoyable. Rooms very clean and spacious with great power shower and deep bath, ideal after a long day on the fells. Ample breakfast using local produce sets u up well for the day.... more

Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Waterwheel, Ambleside and I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough. This grade 2 listed building has been decorated to a sublime standard, including a fabulous ensuite complete with clawfoot bath.
