A repeat visit, a year or so on, and everything was just as good as before for me and my two children. There are some clear and simple rules re such things as breakfast and parking which help to make the visit easy and enjoyable. Dianne and Alan friendly as ever. Thank you for helping us have a great short... More

My partner and I stayed at the Rysdale, Ambleside for a two night stay in March. We have stayed here on many occasions and have alway received a warm welcome from Allan. On this occasion we stayed in one of the newly refurbished double rooms which we found to be beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. The room has been... More

This guest house is run by a lovely couple who make every effort to make sure that the stay is comfortable. Our room was lovely, a lot nicer than I expected. Breakfast was really nice too. There is nothing to fault, I'd definitely recommend this place and hope to return again.

The Rysdale Guest House is located in an excellent location, and within walking distance to shops, cinema, restaurants and local fells. On arrival we were issued with a parking permit (small fee) which could be used in a number of car parks, closest was about a 5 minute walk from guest house. Room 6 is a large bright room with good... More

My partner & I stayed here for 1 night a week ago and it was lovely. Our room was huge with a great view & the bed was seriously comfortable. The breakfast was superb - there was plenty of choice & we both had the full English which we both enjoyed. The owners were very friendly & welcoming. Would definitely... More

After finding it, we were taken to our rooms. Absolutely beautiful! And the view was just gorgeous! Hint room 2 is the best! Service and breakfast was spot on and we were made to feel it was our home. So much to explore from here but be aware the rooms are up some (not a lot) stairs. Only a few... More

Rysdale is everything you would want a B&B to be. Spotless, charming, full of character, with the friendliest owners you could possibly imagine. Conveniently located in the center of Ambleside, this B&B can't be beat. We spent a lovely weekend here in Room 5 with a view of the hills and flower box and small details such as the free bottle... We stayed for three nights August bank holiday weekend, having stayed on numerous occasions before. The B&B is perfectly located. The rooms are clean and spacious and we were made to feel welcome from walking through the door on arrival to us leaving. There is plenty of choice for breakfast and it is always tasty and well presented. We will... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights last week. The room (6) was lovely and the view was amazing! It was really nice to be able to sit in the window and take it all in. Breakfast was really good, especially the orange juice. The parking permit provided for our stay was very useful, we were able to... More
